I know this is 100% a not a WDW Q. But my fellow Dis people seem to always have the answers, I need. Does anyone know of where I can find some decent rates for a July 4th weekend on the North East Coast??? Anywhere from NJ to MD? Hotel, condo, whatever. I prefer Ocean City MD. My budget is $100 per night. Any idea for a safe decent place?? Or where to look? I don't mind a 15-20 min drive from beach.

Honestly, July 4th week is a big week. Nothing will really be cheap... if there are even vacancies. You could check Delaware Beaches as well.. Bethany and Rehobeth. I grew up in OC, but havent been in about 5 years.... I don't know if they have built any hotels right outside of OC, but you could check to see if there is anything in Berlin or West Ocean City. Salisbury is like 25 minutes away, but I would not go there on "vacation". Maybe you could find a rental house in Ocean Pines, Md. That is right outside of OC. LOTS of people rent in there and just drive into the beach. July 4th week, there will be LOTS of traffic. It would be ideal to staying in OC, so you can use the buses, even though they will be packed! LOL, I would personally pick another week to go! Good luck, let us know if you find anything! If you have any other specific questions, just ask!

ETA: Not sure how you feel about camping... but you can camp at Assateague Island. I have been there TONS of times, but never camped there...but I know alot of people do!

I stayed in a real ocean front dive in ocean city once it was near a burger king i think and on the far side of the boardwalk the south side of the boardwalk. dont even know if it was still there but it was a DUMP but it was 55$ a night in prime season don't know what it would be over a holiday i dont remember what it was called just that it was way to the south and next to some carnival rides.... if all else fails try priceline if you don't care that much about location

THANK YOU. I know the rates are super high. I'll look where u suggested. I just hate to spend so much for a few days. We r gong to WDW in Nov, so that's the main event. But I do love OC & the boards. So just a few days would be very nice. I have a baby who will almost be a year, so camping is out of the question.

I live here now and everything said here is spot on. There are no hotels in Berlin or Ocean Pines. There is a Comfort Inn and Francis Scott Key in West Ocean City, but July 4th weekend, I would stay in town due to the traffic. Don't go to Salisbury. Check Fenwick Island, DE also. You can also do mini week rentals (which are weekends) through a lot of the real estate companies. Coldwell Banker is probably the largest, but there are a ton around here. It's going to be hard to find what you are looking for, but with the economy you just never know. The fire works are at 127th St (uptown) and at North Division St (downtown at the boardwalk).

Please check with me if you find a hotel so I can tell you if it's a dump or not. Also, if you have any other questions, let me know!

There is the atlantic hotel in berlin maryland.

Try getting a rental at Assateague Pointe resort. That's where we always stayed! We love going to the beach at Assateague better than the one in OC but it's only 10-15 minutes to either beach. They have a nice pool, free paddleboats and you can fish at the lake or go out on the pier to crab. It's right near Frontiertown Campground.

We have stayed at 3 different places there and rented through this company with no problems!

We have stayed at Long Acres Cottages. It is a bare bones motel but clean and safe. The owner is very nice and helpful. I believe the rates ran about 100.00/night. Our family prefers Assateague beaches to Ocean City and this motel is perfect for us. Good luck!

oops.... forgot about that one, but if they are looking for a beach experience they arent going to have one there. There are also other little hotels in WOC, but none of them are anything I would recommend being a local
