Where is the closest beach (ocean/gulf) to Disney? I would like to drive to a beach for the day and was wondering which would be the closest and how far is it?

Daytona is under an hour from Orlando. Just drive east and you'll hit the beach one way or the other.

I wish I could provide you with the closest beach info, but I'm a Gulf Girl and prefer that side. I've done Daytona, Cocoa, Flagler, [which would be closer, I think, distance-wise/timewise] St. Augustine, etc but much prefer Clearwater and my new favorite, Longboat Key.

We stayed at the Hilton [during the week in September for a few days] and it was so serene and the sunsets were amazing. Nice walking beaches... There's a neat little community with great restaurants, St. Armands, that's about 5 to 10 minutes away and worth the drive.

Well, I guess it depends on what you're looking for--if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing beach time, then I recommend Longboat--if it's fun, party beach-scene [it's been years and frankly some of those memories are a bit on the fuzzy side! :rotfl2:] & you're like 'I just want to go to a beach', then, I'd probably go to Daytona & Cocoa which I think are closer--maybe someone else can help you out on where specifically to go there...

Hope this helps! :yay:
