OK, I've looked this up at a bunch of different sites. I want to go see ocala national forest. The thing is, the sites are all really vague and general. i know roughly where it is, but does anyone know a good area I can spend a day at? I don't want to stay over night there and camp, I Just want to see some springs and maybe find a swimming area.

Any help is appreciated. I know its not very touristy and thats probably why i'm struggling.

Well I have lived here for most of my life, so I think I can help you here:goodvibes If you want to go swimming, then you are going to want to visit Juniper Springs. Its really the only place in the forest that I can think of that allows swimming. There really aren't places to go "visit" for the day, with the exception of the Silver River museum/state park. Otherwise, Juniper is going to be your best bet, because the rest is just a bunch of trees:) Enjoy!

Juniper Springs is worth the trip...extremely scenic, with nice walking
trails....O.K. for swimming but that spring water is cold. You might want to stop in Mt Dora for the train ride or in the Taveres area for the boat trip on the lake and Dora Canal. Do a search on Lake County Florida:cool2: for other activities.
