obtaining all three credit reports....

It's time to check our credit reports. Can anyone recommend a service?

I've found www.annualcreditreport.com which appears to be officially sanctioned by the three credit bureaus. And it will let you view them online (if you can manage to verify your identity), which I like.

Have any of you used annualcreditreport.com? Have you used any other services that you've been pleased with? I'm not opposed to something that charges a fee as long as they are reputable.

I also found truecredit.com which seems to be by TransUnion but I can't tell if their "free" access is for all three reports.

There is also creditreport.com which offers all three reports plus one credit score for $19.95. $9.95 for all three scores.

Have any of you used any of these? What have you used?

A: The three nationwide consumer reporting companies have set up a central website, a toll-free telephone number, and a mailing address through which you can order your free annual report.

To order, visit annualcreditreport.com, call 1-877-322-8228, or complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. The form is on the back of this brochure; or you can print it from ftc.gov/credit. Do not contact the three nationwide consumer reporting companies individually. They are providing free annual credit reports only through annualcreditreport.com, 1-877-322-8228, and Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

You may order your reports from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies at the same time, or you can order your report from each of the companies one at a time. Again, www.annualcreditreport.com is set up by the three major credit reporting services as required by the government. It is the only one where you can get the full credit reports with no fee. However, if you want scores you have to pay for them.

I will get one every February, one every June, and one every October. This way if something strange happens I am never more than four months away from finding a problem.

Be warry of any of the other sides, like Freecreditreport.com - their catchy commercial jingles aside, they are there to make money and do so by enrolling you in their "Triple Advantage" credit "monitoring" service and charge you at least $20 per month for the priviledge. Enjoy the jingles, avoid the company.
