Princess on the Run said:May see you at those! We're planning the Indiana Sprint and doing the Midwest Super (next year) and then picking a location for the Beast. I didn't realize you could count them from a prior year. Nice. It kind of seemed like the Spartan races are more competitive. I like that too but I wonder how it works for the team? Do you get points as individuals or as a team? And does that make people less apt to work together?
Nice!! The reason we can count the Super for next year is that the Spartan World Championships were a couple weeks ago so the season has essentially started over. It is more competitive but not in a bad way. At the Sprint, there were people who just jumped in to help
me (out of deep mud pits, etc) and I somehow finished 3rd for females...total fluke!! The points/awards are for individuals (you have to register for the Elite heat to be eligible for awards), but they do award top team (based on top 3-5 racers) and largest team. Those of you on those teams get either a partial refund or a free race. So, I am a member of the "Corn Fed Spartans" team but race in the Elite heat as an individual, KWIM? Are you on facebook? Send me a pm with your name and I can invite you to the Corn Fed Spartans page if you like...lots of really nice people that love obstacle racing!!
