I scratch my head daily how certain DISers took every chance they could get to bash President Bush. Now this same group gets very twisted knickers when someone says something negative about Obama. Amazing.
But, you know, everything IS Bush's fault; it's even his 'fault' that Obama was elected And this is coming from someone who votes in every election, yet never voted for either man (i.e. Don't blame me, I voted for ____)
I don't get this one. I really don't. The complaints about teachers, I mean. That's just entirely unreasonable. People who teacher-bash should try BEING a teacher for a few months (and I'm not, never was, and don't know any, on a more than casual basis).

I don't get it either. My mother was a teacher for many years as well as a substitute teacher for most of my high school career and it's TOUGH. I remember one day she came home and said it had been her worst day ever. She had been subbing in a home ec class and one period, there was a pregnant girl who INSISTED she be allowed to go to the bathroom RIGHT THEN. My mother told her to sit down and wait for the end of class but the girl didn't want to. So she strolled to the back of the classroom where the stoves were and started setting magazines on fire.
I know that teaching a class full of bilingual and special needs students isn't easy, so I make sure that I tell DS's teachers that they are doing an awesome job as often as I can. I don't go up there and start trying to get in their way. I stand back and let them do what they have to do. I ask for advice on how to help him at home with certain things. I volunteer on special class days (like parties, Rodeo Day, etc) and I pay attention during his annual IEP review meeting. I loved his teachers last year and his teachers this year are just as great. I'm curious to see who he gets assigned to in kindergarten next year, because all the teachers he has had so far have set the bar VERY high, IMO, for whoever comes next.

Right now, I'm obsessed with my Dossier (so I can get my Level 2 teaching license). My hubby can't believe how much work it is and it really doesn't show how I am in the classroom with my students. It's just a major "term" paper.
I'm always obsessed with Disney-but that's what gets me throught the tough times.
