As your experience with photography grows, do you look back at some of your old pictures and wonder what in the world you were thinking when keeping some of that old junk? I am not really happy with Windows Vista, but it has an awesome photo screen saver. I have it set on the folder with all my pics. Because it is random, some of my old shots come up and I am left scratching my head on why I did not delete some of them.

Here are some examples of what I am talking about.

True, my equipment is better now, but that does not explain why I held on to that old junk!

Please feel free to show your own.

I will give my thread one shameless bump. If nobody responds, then I guess I am the only digital pic pack rat! :confused3 :rotfl2:

I would, but I cant see any of your posts, and I cant post any of my older stuff. My work filters out all of the pics most people post here. Sorry.:confused3

Maybe it's just that we don't have any quite that bad. :rotfl:

j/k I have some too. Mind you, my skills are still a work in progress:

I don't have anything that I can contribute to this topic. Not because I've never taken a bad shot, but because I follow that old adage "If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence you ever tried".

And some of us are still taking pictures that good...er, bad (although these are old ones.)

:thumbsup2 That is me now. I will still keep some where everything did not turn out alright but it means something to me, but if it is truly junk, it is gone! Especially at the size of those RAW files!!!

I will add a few- trouble is I never took very many pictures back then. Most of the 'Then' pictures are circa 2001 or so...

duey doo dah what is wrong with the exit sign photo..i can see them perfectly well;) :rotfl:

i am hopng to change computers soon so the junk can't go along but give me a few months and i'm sure i will come up with plenty more

This is exactly why I've never set my screen saver to scroll through my photos--I can't bear to look at all the ones I should have deleted. :rotfl2:

I never did until I got Vista. The one included in it is much better than the older versions. It changes effects, plays videos, changes backgrounds, does b&W, etc. The kids love it.

I just got a laptop with Vista but haven't had an opportunity to play with it yet, so this is good--I'll just be selective about what I transfer over to that one. :thumbsup2 Thanks for the tip!

I will let you in one one thing that seems to mess up in Vista all the time. It has a bad habit of blue screening when you use sleep/hibernate. It is supposed to be fixed in SP1 that comes out next month.

Kevin

Can you share the EXIF info of this shot? I really like it, and need to possibly upgrade some equipment to take better shots at night.

Sure- Taken with the Nikon D300 & 24mm f2.8 lens. Taken @ f2.8 / 1/100 Sec Exposure @ ISO 1250. Shot was taken +2/3 EV.

It does fix it. I never blue screen with the service pack. Also, if you didn't mention it, the SS will use your RAW files. No need to convert them first. A huge plus (well, except for those "should be discarded" photos.)

You see, now you are assuming that I process my RAW files on a timely basis... :rotfl2:
