Hi All, my sister and I both booked two cabin "placeholders" when we went on a trip in Jan 2016. We recently went ahead and picked a cruise in Dec of this year. We are all booked with deposits paid.
This is how we booked:

Sister (Jones, original guest) and my Mother (Smith) in one cabin
Brother In law (Jones, original guest) and my Father (Smith) in the other cabin

My Husband and I did the same thing with a booking for my Cousin and her husband.

So Four cabins with 8 people. We plan to switch keys when we get on the ship. I've learned to do this so in case our invited guests back out we still would be able to keep both cabins and add other guests or cancel one cabin and move DH or myself in the remaining cabin. HAVE I Lost anyone yet???

OK a now the Jones family may have to back out. IS there any way my Parents (Smiths) can still go on the cruise with the OBB perks or are they out of luck if my sister cancels? OR can I add another a third adult to a room lets say (Johnson family) and then pay for that extra person and then just cancel the (Smiths) when final pay comes?

I'm basically trying to switch out my sister who was the original guest and add another family if they can't go. I'm guessing this won't work. Is there a way to switch the "main" guest? My sister is Platinum if that helps in any way! At minimum I'm hoping that if they have to cancel, my parents won't lose their OBB perks if they switch them over.

Thanks for any thoughts!

In order for a reservation to receive the onboard booking perks, one name must remain on the reservation.

So, if Jones (sister) and Jones (BIL) both cancel, then Smiths cannot get the perks on their rooms. And the Smiths will be paying single supplement costs for one person in a room.

If both Jones cancel, the Smiths can be moved into the Johnson rooms (3 person in each) and the reservation will retain their booking perks. BUT, the Smiths will be paying the prevailing price for a 3 person in a room. AND, you take the chance there still room in both the rooms and lifeboats for those rooms to add more people.

If the Jones cancel and the Smiths remain in their respective rooms, and you add two other people (one in each room), the onboard booking perks will disappear.
