Hey, for everyone who's planning on going...
It was just announced that all the Potomac River Bridges that lead from Virginia into DC will now be permitted to carry PEDESTRIAN traffic for the Inaugural. These include the "TR"/aka Teddy Roosevelt Memorial Bridge (carries I-66, goes from Rosslyn to near the Kennedy Center), Key Bridge(carries US Route 29 from Rosslyn into Georgetown, western DC area), 14th Street Bridge Complex(actually five different bridges collectively & colloquially known for the DC street they all feed into which runs North/South & bisects the Mall) and Memorial Bridge(the one that runs from Arlington National Cemetery to near the Lincoln Memorial).
ALSO
barrier fencing (including serious metal crowd-control fences) has been temporarily installed between the Inbound/outbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway on the Virginia side of the Potomac, starting at the Northern end of (Old Town) Alexandria. You will NOT be able to park on the frontage roads west of the Parkway in Alexandria and then directly cross to the Mount Vernon bike/walking trail that is on the river-side of the Parkway and that runs between DC & Mount Vernon itself.
agnes!
