Um...but the punishment was created by God, not Satan. Satan is just a fallen angel, he doesn't have the power to create those things. He just tempts us to do immoral things, casting us away from God.

God allowed Satan to cast diseases and troubles upon us. Satan is extremely powerful. Why do you think most people aren't christian? It's Satan's doing!

I <3 thomas paine. I agree with thomas. I believe in God and Jesus, but unless my momma is dragging me to jesus' memorial at her church I won't be apart of any organized religion.

I believe religion was started to explain things that couldn't (back then) be explained.

The sumerians of mesopatamia were baffled as to why the tigris and euphrates river flooded so unpredictably. Answer? Because the gods were mad at them.

The egyptians of the nile river valley had a river that only flooded twice a year, every year. Their gods were pleased with them, and the world was a predictable and orderly place.

If (way back when) we had the amount of technology and science we have now, I'm not sure if religion would be as strong as it is. That could be just because I'm a 'non believer', or I could be right. We'll never know.

Every religion dies out eventually, imo, so it's interesting to wonder if in the future it will be as prominent.

This is what I was taught:

By the harm mankind, I took it as harming them by living in hell for eternity.

He doesn't RULE the world, he influences it. The battle supposedly happening as we speak, right? SATAN VS. GOD. Wonder how much that'd be on PPV.

He doesn't fight God in the last battle. He is brought back to earth one last time after the 1000 years of peace to try and drag anyone else away from God, and after that he is forever banished to the lake of fire.
