Obama and his aunt

In an interview with Katie Couric, Obama was asked about his aunt. He commented that he has been trying to get in touch with her, but has been unable to do so. Considering the London Times and most of the media has been able to do that, it seems odd that Obama can't.
This is the aunt that has been here for 4 years illegally from Kenya and lives in poverty in public housing in Boston. She has been ordered by the courts to leave this country and has not done so.

I read somewhere that Obama returned the 200 hundred and some odd dollars that his aunt had donated to his campaign. How could they not know she was here if she was donating to his campaign? Just wondering?

She donated the money to the campaign using her actual name, not using "Obama's Aunt". She didn't hand the check directly to her nephew.
