Has anybody ever stayed here? We are planning a trip to Disney the first week of May. Ive been to Disney 10 times so not a newbie at it. But, we are cheap and always looking for a place to stay.
While searching this morning, I came across this Oak Plantation.. Everything looks good from the website. They are offering 1 bedroom villas for 39$ for that week(Internet rate), plus the 12% tax and I think a 3$ a day service fee. Anyways, there are 2 adults and 2 children. The room is 1 king bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, and kitchen and laundry in each room. It almost seems too good to be true. Has anybody stayed here or know anything about this place?

is this the address

4100 Enchanted Oak Circle
Kissimmee

if it is this is a timeshare - you probably have to go to a timeshare presentation

here are some reviews from tug
1/18/03 Owner: No Our group had a total of 5 units for the week, a 2BR, 3 1 BR and a deluxe 1 br. The 2 BR was very nice and spacious, as was the deluxe 1 BR. The regular 1 Br although small, were still nice. We had a family of 4 in one of the regular 1 BR and they were comfortable.
Kitchen was adequate with the minimal pots and pans we have come to expect with a timeshare unit.

2 BR and deluxe 1 BR had full washer/dryer, small 1 BR had combo washer/dryers which were inefficient.

The resort was very quiet and the staff was quite polite. Check-in was very fast for all 5 units.

The grounds were very well maintained and quiet.

The pool area was small but adequate for us, after all this is a disney area resort! We weren't here to swim!

We had only one significant complaint- the smell of smoke! There are no non-smoking units at the resort, and one of our rooms absolutely reeked of smoke. They came and used a ozone unit to decrease the smell, but only partially succeeded.

The resort is a little out of the way, it took about 20-25 minutes to get to the Disney parks. We didn't mind because we gained quiet and easy access to conveniences such as the Walmart and restaurants.

Without the smoke smell I would give the resort a 8.5. With the smoke, I would have to give it a 7.

7/26/02 Owner: No Basically, Oak Plantation reminded me of an apartment complex. It has a nice lake wtih picnic areas and areas to sit. It also had a nice pool area, with large hot tub and kiddie pool. It is not noticeably modern but the facilities are standard, maintained and clean. Service was excellent. I accidentally locked the oven with our dinner in it and couldn't open it because it was set on the clean cycle (by accident) and in seconds they had a maintenance tech over to unscrew the latch and opened it. I also had to call for extra serving dishes, blankets, pillows, paper towels and they had the stuff to me in a flash. They also cleaned the grill for me before I cooked on it. All you have to do is ask and they respond. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, like a small neighborhood with lots of old oak trees.
The resort is close to Vine street which is also W. Irlo Bronson Hwy. It's close to a SuperWalmart, fast food places, drug stores etc. If you go by way of John Young and Ocala (can't remember the names of the streets, AAA gave me real easy routes that avoided the W. Irlo B traffic) it takes about 15 minutes to get to Disney area.

The downside was that they have very limited recreation equipment/activities and although they had water aerobics, pool games etc, there was not anything for teenagers. Bingo was offered only on Sunday evenings.

They provided dishwashing soap/detertgent and paper towels/basic bath soap, lotion and shampoo but no laundry soap.

Another negative was that they had in the kitchen 2 large serving bowls, like 2 gallon size and 1 13 x9 rectangular casserole dish but that was it as far a serving dishes. They will bring you more but it's all the same size, too large.

Close to the end of our stay, they left a voice message that they apologize for the inconvenience but they were having workers going around to install new miniblinds throughout the units. I called the front desk and told them that they would have to wait until I checked out of my unit, then they could install the blinds. Despite that, the blinds were already stacked outside my door and one hour later, the workmen knocked on my door. I told them to leave but it was not their fault; they apparently had not gotten the message from the front desk. I thought that was pretty tacky of them to ask vacationers to put up with installation of miniblinds througout an entire unit during their stay. -

7/29/01 Owner: No I am writing this review on my laptop while @the resort; it is raining:(:( OK, I'm not going to go over all of which has appeared before. For the record the grounds are outstanding, a 10. The front desk and maintenance people are

We spent November 1 - November 8 here last fall and just loved it! The complex was on the small size, but nicely landscaped and very clean. We stayed in a larger one-bedroom with living room area and full washer/dryer. My parents stayed in a smaller one-bedroom with a combo washer/dryer. They found a great deal at 49.99 per night and were very happy with their one-bedroom.
They had a "dive in" night while we were there. It was a movie played outside by the pool - people seemed to enjoy it. The staff were very friendly. The complex is in a circle and the sign past the gate directs you to the Fitness Area, Activities Area, pool area, and ends with, "P.S. Don't worry, it's a circle." That sign made me giggle each time we drove in.

There is free coffee available each morning at the reception area. My daughter enjoyed going out to the gazebo and feeding the ducks. The staff were great about washing down all walkways several times a day. Both room locations were very quiet.

It was nice to have a bathroom with drawers and a medicine cabinet - you can tell this used to be an apartment complex. We enjoyed having these features.

The site is located near Super Walmart/Medieval Times, which was pretty convenient.
