Just wondering if anyone has stayed at Oak Plantation? Did the search, but not much came up. I'm looking at booking a one bedroom through Hotelkingdom. Thanks for any feedback!

it doesn't have many reviews on tug - this is some of one -

"2 BR and deluxe 1 BR had full washer/dryer, small 1 BR had combo washer/dryers which were inefficient.

The resort was very quiet and the staff was quite polite. Check-in was very fast for all 5 units.

The grounds were very well maintained and quiet.

The pool area was small but adequate for us, after all this is a disney area resort! We weren't here to swim!

We had only one significant complaint- the smell of smoke! There are no non-smoking units at the resort, and one of our rooms absolutely reeked of smoke. They came and used a ozone unit to decrease the smell, but only partially succeeded.

The resort is a little out of the way, it took about 20-25 minutes to get to the Disney parks. We didn't mind because we gained quiet and easy access to conveniences such as the Walmart and restaurants. "

it only have 2 views both a year apart - this one was done in 2003.

this is the address of this Oak Plantation -
Enchanted Oak Circle
Kissimmee FL 34741 USA

is it the same one?

I wouldn't suggest Oak Plantation right now due to all the construction on 192.

We stayed there in November 03. A coworker stayed there last October and loved it. I wrote a little review for RCI ..

"We spent November 1 = November 8th, 2003 here and just loved it! The complex was on the small size, but nicely landscaped and very clean. We stayed in a larger one bedroom with living room area and full washer/dryer. My parents stayed in a smaller one bedroom with a combo washer/dryer. They found a great deal at 49.99 per night and were very happy with their one bedroom.

They had a 'dive in' night while we were there. It was a movie played outside by the pool - people seemed to enjoy it. The staff were very friendly. The complex is in a circle and the sign past the gate directs you to the Fitness Area, Activities area, pool area and ends with, "PS don't worry it's a circle". That sign made me giggle each time we drove in.

There is free coffee available each morning at the reception area. My daughter enjoyed going out to the gazebo and feeding the ducks. The staff were great about washing down all walkways several times a day. Both room locations were very quiet.

It was nice to have a bathroom with drawers and a medicine cabinet, you can tell this used to be an apartment complex. We enjoyed having these features. "

There WAS construction going on when we went but did not have a problem with it. We are the type of people who are out early and home late and did not see a problem with traffic.

Hope this helps!

That is true and a LOVED apartment complex at that :) . My best friend lived there for almost 2 years (in what is now the "Savanah" one bedroom) and was very sad to move out (it worked out for the best, he ended up buying a house). I had been to his apartment many times and was going to move in there as well when we got the word that it was becoming a "vacation rental" property. So I guess my review of it is a little different because we didn't stay for a vacation, that was home, but we loved it.

I agree that the construction on 192 is a pain sometimes, but if you are prepared for it, it is not that bad :)

Thanks for the information, everyone! I think we probably will be staying there on our trip this Feb. I wonder if there is another way to get to WDW than 192? Thanks for the heads up on the construction!

There is but it is a toll road.

If you go left out of the resort the road will horseshoe around (and turn into Carroll Street). Follow that around until you come to the first MAJOR road which is Bermuda Ave and make a left. Take Bermuda to the Osceola Parkway and make another left. There is a toll there I believe it is $1.50
The Osceola Parkway dead ends at the Animal Kingdom. So it will take you directly into property and away from all the 192 construction. (this will take you about 20 minutes)

Going back you would just follow the property signs to the Osceola Parkway and head away from AK. When you go through the toll plaza, Bermuda/John Young parkway (it changes names right there) is the first BIG road after the toll plaza, make a right and follow it down, you could either turn right onto Carroll and take the horseshoe around again or keep going to 192 and make a right to Hoagland ( just pass the Osceola Square Mall).

If you plan on going to Sea World on your trip you can use the same direction just keep going straight on Bermuda/John Young (instead of turning onto the Osceola Parkway) and you would make a left at the JW Marriott (can't miss it it is HUGE) Sea World is on that road (The central Florida Parkway, no toll). this will take you about 30 minutes.
