Oak Plantation?

Anyone know anything about Oak Plantation? How does it compare to Silver Lake? Trying to decide between the 2. Seems to me from the websites that Oak Plantation has nicer looking condos and has 2 doubles in second bedroom where SilverLakes decor looks like it is on the tacky side, and has a king in second bedroom (I need to accomadeate 4 kids in second bedroom) However it seems Silver Lake is closer to Disney, where we plan to spend all of our time. Anyone able to offer any insight?

I'd be interested in knowing the answer to that too - I have a one night ressie at Oak Plantation in a couple weeks. Haven't seen any recent comments on it. (The search brings up some old ones. Apparently it used to be apartments).

Never stayed there but have been in that area alot, as we go to the Ross Store just near it. It is located in a run down area of the US192. I would not feel very comfortable staying in that area. ALot of business are shut down.

We are owners at Silver Lake and love the resort. Very close to Animal Kingdom, and we always are safe there. We own in the older units and have stayed in the new sections, but still prefer the older sections. Every unit is close to the pools as it is not a large resort, but a very safe convenient place to stay with lots of activities and great staff.

Also, our unit has 2 doubles in the second bedroom and king in the master.

We stayed there back in 2002, it was nice when we stayed there, but I thought it was pretty far from Disney. It would take twenty minutes just to get to World Drive using the Osceola Pkwy. It seems that the Osceola has been built up more in the last few years so it may even take longer now. I never felt unsafe there and liked the extra room the condo gave us over a hotel room. It just seemed so far to drive back there every night when my kids were tired.
