Does anyone have one or have used one at Disney? Did it hold up? We're finding them for $4.50 at Walmart but as much as $15 online. If you have this one, were you able to find a way to hang it from your neck?

ETA: Also, does anyone know roughly how many ounces the Disney Water Misting Bottle holds?

We bought 2 Disney Misting Fans on our first trip in Sept/06 and we still have them and take them on every trip - if we go during the hot weather. They are very durable and aside from replacing batteries, they work very well - IMO.

Not sure how many ounces they hold but at a guess I would say about 16 ounces - we add ice cubes as well so it stays cooler longer! We usually take a small drink cooler into the parks with us and we keep extra ice in there for refills during the day.

I have not personally seen the Wal-Mart brands - sorry, but we are very happy with our Disney Misting Fans. We felt the cost was worth while for the comfort they brought to us, especially standing in line waiting for Peter Pan during the month of September - it was extremely hot and we probably would not have survived the line without the fans/water!

I did have the mini ones which i bought last year and they do work only problem there was no neck strap. I think i will try to find a way to hang from my neck for this year, i dont know maybe use a glue gun to glue a neck strap onto it, that is the only way i can figure it would work. thanks for posting this i will definitely have to try it and see.

DD used the O2 cool fan from Wal Mart last year and it worked just fine; she cracked it recently and I bought a new one last week for upcoming trip; Dick's Sporting Goods sells them also but they are a little higher. We've used the larger fans but they are a hassle to carry and in June the water gets warm pretty fast even with ice in it.

We have the H2 cool misters (the bigger ones that hold like 16 oz of water.)

I cant imagine hanging that from my neck in the hot weather.

It is portable and will go in my bag and bought out when needed.

This is what we did in August. We had 1 large one that I kept in my backpack and we would take turns with as needed. The kids each had a small one of their own to use when waiting in line or sitting for a show. They did really help to take the edge off. :thumbsup2

We have this one (in green):

It was $2 at WalMart and it works great. I'm thinking of knitting a sling for it, but so far DH has just carried it in his cargo shorts pocket. He's dropped it and banged it a couple times, but it still works just fine.

Your WalMart is better than ours!! ours has them for $ 9.00!! which I didn't think was all that bad until I read your post. :lmao: I'm glad to hear they work good though. that's the one we were thinking about getting if we don't just get it at Disney.

We use that one for our trips. We put ice water in it and refill with the ice water (free) from the parks. It clips on to the end of our lanyard and is much easier to carry than the big fans, IMHO.

We just bought the O2 Mister fans from Dick's Sporting goods for about $5 a piece I think. A lot of people seem to recommend them. I imagine they could be attached to a lanyard. They come with a fastener thingy...

I think this is the one my Mom found at her Walmart today. She got it for $4.50 and went ahead and picked them up for us. I figure, worst case scenario, it breaks and I buy one at Disney.

It looks small enough to clip onto a bag, too. Where did you get it? Cost?
Thanks

I got mine at Wal Mart a couple of days ago (June 2010). I have the big one too but like others, I thought it would be a drag to have around my neck all day--I'm not wearing a backpack in the heat.

I don't remember how much I paid but I'm sure it was under $5.

Could you please tell me what brand these are so I can look online? I saw this posted on another thread and I've been to 2 WalMarts and 2 Targets and neither one had these. I looked with the sporting goods, the summer stuff, and the toys :headache:

As for the O2Cool ones from Wal-Mart, we have 2 of them and we have never taken them into the parks (we've had them for 3 years.) They are very cumbersome and the one time we did attempt to take them to the parks they leaked in my backpack on the way to the bus stop, so we took them back to the room. I have used them at the beach, though, and they work great when you're not having to haul them around in a backpack or around your neck :thumbsup2

Have you tried the hardware or camping sections at Walmart? I found some in those areas.

Thanks! I did look in the hardware section, but not the camping. I found the larger ones in the section with the outdoor garden decor and chair cushions :confused3 but there weren't any small ones. I'll keep looking :)

We have these as well. They were at Walmart. The kids can carry their own and it's not a big deal to refill them.

We just picked this one up at Walmart last weekend for $4.00. The big one was $9.00.

I am sort of shocked to see Walmart prices that differ so much. I would have thought that things cost the same at all the Walmarts.

The little one is by 02 Cool and it's called the Carabiner Misting Fan. I picked one up at Walmart in the section that has hangers, shoe caddies, etc...They had a whole display. They only hold a bit of water (less than a small water pistol), but they can clip in to a backpack. They also take 1 AA battery.
