O/T What are you reading?

I second the The Glass Castle. Read it about 2 years ago. Awesome.

Another good recent one was White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. Very funny.

Also any book by David Sedaris specifically, Me Talk Pretty One Day. Hilarious.

I also got sucked into the twilight books - just finished the last one.

I also enjoy anything by Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter Carol Higgens Clark. I'm out of books right now though so am re-reading Harry potter 1/2 blood prince since the movie comes out in July!

the boys and I are also reading the 2nd Kingdom keepers book - Disney at Dawn. Great books and it's neat to be able to 'picture' the things they are talking about in your mind - I finished the 1st book with them before our December trip to Disney and the 9yo was funny when we rode It's a small world - waiting for the creepy dolls to come to life and attack us!!

We are reading the Twilight series (again) love those books and I think its because I like to get lost in the words. My DD15 tuned me into them and I scoffed at first.......then:cool1: ..... My other love is Outlander series:love: . We will fly with Edward so we can swap books:rotfl: only because she ius too young to appreciate Jamie:rolleyes: .

I too am a Twilight fan. I'm about to start Breaking Dawn this weekend. I'll check out the Kelley Armstrong books as well, thanks for posting her link!

Maggie- I love JD Robb and James Patterson. I am finished all the Eve Dallas books but I think there is a new one out I seen it advertise but missed if it was new or not, it was on tv. I have only ready the Womens Murder Club of James Patterson but still loved them.

DearDaisy- I read the Blue Dahlia Trilogy and LOVED them!!!!

I am just starting the 7 trilogy books.....Blood Brothers

The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs (I think, I'm bad with author's names) was a good quick read. Comfort Food by the same author was great as well. Shopaholic series (any Sophie Kinsella) are nice light, quick reads too.

These are the types of books I like to read on vacation. I usually only read on the plane or for a few minutes before bed each night. I don't like anything too complex that I have to re-read pages to figure out characters, at least not while on vacation!

Enjoy:)

One third the way through "Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination". Very interesting for fans of Disney. :goodvibes

I am currently reading Disneywar by James B Stewart

I also read the James Patterson books as they are easy to read with the short chapters.

Last trip to WDW, I read Marley and Me but had to read the end of it in the privacy of my room!

A good choice would also be the Vinyl Cafe books by Stuart McLean. They are short stories in each book and SO funny.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mysteries, another series that is so great:

Aunt Dimity mystery series - just read the two latest (Aunt Dimity and the Wild West, and Aunt Dimity Vampire Hunter), the author's name is Nancy Atherton, if you read them, please start with the first one, it's in the Top 100 of mysteries, title is Aunt Dimity's Death. It WILL get you hooked.

Alice Hoffman is such an amazing writer, Third Angel is new. Couldn't put it down until I finished it.

If you like non fiction, The Middle Place is very good, it's a daughter's story.

I want to sign up for the new feature the library has, you fill out a readers reference guide and they notify you when your preferred authors have new books published, you automatically go on the wait list.

Yep yep yep...I LOVE Nora Roberts and her alter ego JD Robb, have read both those trilogy's........just read a new Eve Dallas book ..it is called Salvation in Death...just got it from library and read it practically straight thru...my girls see me with JD and think..Uh OH...no supper for us:rotfl2:

You must be talking about the latest one out "Promises in Death"...I have it ordered from library...There is one by JD Robb and 2 other writers called Suite 606...Girls bought it for me for Xmas....it has 3 separate stories with an ongoing carry over theme...pretty neat...

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas...I just got some Jane Green from library and think I will take her on my trip! 4 more days:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I just finished Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson. Great Read. Nothing like the many other James Patterson books I've read. Which I have loved. I now have my mom and a bunch of her friends all hooked on James Patterson.
