I've tried local "live" support groups in our area, but they've not been all that helpful. We've had the dx for DS9 for 3 years. Would like suggestions of other boards that you've found helpful in dealing with both the technical and support sides of Aspergers.

I've found that the OASIS website to be incredibly thorough. They have lots of information and a message board.

This is my first posting so I hope it works

There are a multitude of informational sites such as the ones above. As you have likely found out allready the "state of the art" in Aspergers is at its infantile stage. Lots of well meaning professionals who only partially "get it".

If you find a good general converstation site I would like it also, I have looked and most just deal with problems not triumphs.

The thread around Disney seem to be some of the most practial and progressive ( I suspect because the parents of Aspergers children who recognize the value of Disney World have a more enlighted view of there children and Aspergers in general).

If you have not guessed allready I am a 50yo subclinical aspie dd from a long line of aspies. As I state to new poeple which I meet at support groups, I would have been very dissapointed if at least one of my children had not been and aspie. I was fortunate to have a 8yo ds who is clinical. I also have a 4yo ds who is more to the neurotypical side of the world and a neurotypical dw.

As you might guess my perseption of Aspergers is quite different from neurotypicals.

sorry for the spelling ( have not loaded the spell checker yet)

Hi and :welcome: to DisBoards and disABILITIES!

And don't worry about spell-checking, we don't worry about spelling mistakes, and if anyone tries to pick on a person's typos the moderators will take care of them.
