Hi-

I was looking to buy a roundabout carseat for DS(6 mths), but they do not make them in the cute cow print. Can the marathon cover fit the roundabout? Also is the Puma (leopard) fabric too "girl-y"?

Suggestions please...

I think the prints are tied to the model. They may have extra covers on the website.

We have the marathon and LOVE it. Dh wishes we bought 2 (he got a different brand)

DD3 still uses it and she has room to grow in it.

We have a Roundabout AND a Marathon. The covers are definitely not interchangeable. The Marathon's shell is larger. As for the "girly factor"...I think you should get whatever YOU like. Babies don't care and the whole "boy/girl" thing is totally lost on me, except for things that are very obviously pink and lacey. :rotfl:

I haven't seen Puma in person, but it doesn't look too girly to me.

You might want to consider buying the Marathon instead. The Roundabout is a great seat, but the Marathon will give you more years of use, since it goes up to 65 lb instead of 40. And it does come in that adorable cow print... I miss mine! :flower:

I second that. We are about to replace two car seats, one because ds is nearly at the 40 lb limit and the other because I think that baby dd will be safer in a marathon and we're going to have to replace it later anyways. Ds is only 2, but he's tall and skinny. I don't feel safe with him in a seat belt booster and all the boosters with a five point harness have a 40 lb weight limit on the harness. So unless you want buy a Roundabout and then a Marathon and then a seat belt booster after 65 lbs, I would just get the Marathon.

Britax fans here!! :goodvibes We have several different types. My oldest had the roundabout in the Big Cat print(kind of a leopard print) and then my son used it for a bit. I don't think it is girl or boy specific...but he is also secure in his masculinity :smooth: :rotfl2: I agree with the others about doing the Marathon instead. Also the RA and the Marathon are different sizes so I don't think it would work out for switching. These are great seats and worth the money.

Please avoid websites that sell aftermarket covers for Britax seats. It specifically states in the Britax manuals that using aftermarket or nonBritax accessories voids their warranty. In addition, these aftermarket products may not be subjected to the same tests as the original manufacturer's cover for flame retardness and crash performance.

If you are already considering the Britax name, please check out the Wizard and Boulevard. They both are rated to 65 lbs but offer side impact protection. Britax has a seat replacement policy where some seats will be replaced by Britax (you would pay the shipping) if it is occupied by your child during a crash. You can check out their webiste for more details. www.BritaxUSA.com

I LOVE our Roundabout! We have the standard beige and I can say it has held up so well. I am going to be buying another Britax for my youngest(9 months) I just have to pick between the Marathon and the Roundabout. I went Roundabout for price and when I thought that by 40 pounds my son would rather be in a booster(he is now 3 and only 30 pounds..so I think we probably have another year of the Roundabout for him) I can't think clearly right now to decide if I should give the roundabout to the baby and get the Marathon for my older to use now for a while. hmmmmm. :confused3
Oh and I was cursing the Graco snug ride this morning as I was trying to adjust the seat straps to fit around a snowsuit...struggling and struggling. And then was able to simply one handed push a button and pull on the Britax for my older son. I wouldn't get swayed by a fabric choice. Pick the one you will get more use out of.

If I were in your shoes, I'd get the Marathon for your older child and use the Roundabout for the baby. If your son outgrows the Roundabout in a year, 4 years old is awfully young to be in a booster.

:teeth: If I were you I would go for the Marathon in the cow print that you really want. We love our Britax car seats! We have a marathon for dd #2 and love it, we also have a Husky for her. If I were you I would skip the roundabout, since the baby will out grow it at 40 lbs. We just bought a Decathalon for our new baby and I can wait to use it! It's so pretty and the fabric is so soft. Nothing beats the Britax seats, IMO. But, the Marathon is for sure a great car seat!

Here's another vote for the cow print Marathon. We love our's, and I don't think the cow print is too girly. For a little more money, you get a lot more use out of the Marathon.

I ordered mine from babyuniverse.com. If you do a search for codes, you can usually find 10% off or free shipping etc.

Good luck! Britax seats are the best!

Thanks for all of your help! I oredered the Roundabout in Puma today. The marathon was very tempting but I can barely fit the infant car seat in the car, and I was afraid the bigger seat would not fit very well rea-facing. ( We can't put it in the middle since we have another child in a booster.)

Thanks again
