My DH just came storming in the house after work, telling me he is going to quit his job, he can't take his boss anymore. (The man is a horrible beast)(his boss that is)He's such a weirdo, there was a day his wife was going to the doctor to find out if she had cancer, and he dropped her off. Didn't even go in with her to get possible life changing news. The guy's a real jerk. But my husband will never be able to get the pay he gets now anywhere else and he's telling me we'll have to cancel our upcoming trip to WDW and probably have to sell our new car we just bought a couple of months ago. This is such staggering news. I feel sick. Not to mention how my kids are feeling.Sorry guys, just had to vent. Thanks for listening.

Oh my gosh...I'm so sorry! I know there are so many emotions right now and it's probably hard to think clearly. Can he at least collect unemployment til he finds a better position?

Thanks. I don't believe you can collect when you quit. It's just to a point now after so many years of putting up with this idiot that my husbands health is suffering. I know health is more important that anything else but it doesn't pay the bills. It's just looking like a very scary situation right now.

If he hasn't quit yet perhaps he may consider not quitting until he has another job lined up.

Since he hasn't quit YET, does he have any vacation time available that he can take NOW?? Maybe a nice break from this jerk would do him good!! I know first hand what an idiot boss can do to a husband....my thoughts are with you and the kids!! Try talking to him and see if he can get some time away!!
Not only would it give him the much needed break, it would give him the chance to see what's out there in the employment field before he does something so drastic!!

He's already used all his vacation time for the year. He's at his wits end with this guy. This has been going on for a while, he just can't take it anymore. He's about to crack. I understand but it doesn't mean I like it and know how to deal with it. Thanks for listening guys.

I've been in situations with a boss I hated. There were times I wanted to tell her off & storm out, but I'm glad I didn't. If it were me, I would sit down & have a hard look at my finances and see what the bare minimum salary I would need to cover my expenses. Then, I'd start looking for jobs. Being proactive about changing the situation rather than wallowing in the crap really helped my mental outlook.

Do you work? If not, would it be possible for you to get a part-time job to help with expenses?

Oh yeah, I work full time already.If this does happen, it's not only going to be a change of the way we live, it's bye, bye to WDW trips. Ya know, the one thing in life that lets you forget everything for a while. This has been going on for YEARS with this guy. It's not something my DH is just flipping out over.
