I started back at the gym last week and tonight was the first night for my favorite class. It is called Body Pump, a total body work out with barbells. They added Mondays at my preferred time and have put the Wednesday class back at my preferred time. I can't think of a better whole body work out. But right now, I am exhausted and ache a little. Wednesday's class should work out the aches that will be more evident on that day.

Kim

P.S. I lost 4 lbs this past week.

That's great Kim! Good for you. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Paul. For as much as that class can make me tired and achy, I love it. One hour of working out. I lucked out tonight, with the holiday and being the first night for the new time, I was the only one there. One on one with the instructor. Who by the way just had a baby 6 weeks ago. And she looks great. Now if I could only lose 4 lbs every week, I would be a very happy camper. I of course know that isn't realistic or safe, but a person can dream.

I just started lifting weights again. Who am I kidding, I made it once. I made it to the gym twice last week, but with no school it was hard. And, the week before DD was sick. I REALLY need/want to lose weight, but am struggling sooo much.

Way to go Kim. :cheer2: Best of luck on the program.

Kudos to you for 1) getting back to the gym and 2) losing 4 pounds!! That's terrific!

I know what you mean, the weight classes can be tough to get through but in a wierd way, I feel great afterwards. I go to several different classes that are real killers, one called power sculpt, one called pyramid lifting, and oh yes, mustn't forget super circuit. I'm fortunate that the small local fitness I go to, really mixes the classes up so your body is always getting new workouts.

Keep up the great work!

Way to go, Kim! You inspire me!

Of course, I'm not losing weight...at least not much. But I just started out with my WiiFat, and believe me, I feel it. Which puzzles me, because I've been going to the gym and I don't hurt after doing the machines and such there...must be working different muscles.

wow, great job Kim!!!!

i love lifting weights. DH is an ex-power lifter. now he has me trained to do free weights, including bench and squats. it's been a while though:confused3 :sad2: i need to get back if i can ever find the time!

i love classes- it is so hard with a 1yo to find time though, especially since i work fulltime too. i love step aerobics, it is a great alternative to the treadmill, which I hate.

4lbs!!! wowza! keep up the good work!!!!!:thumbsup2 :cheer2:

How are you liking Wii Fat? I WANT Wii Fat!!!! Can you hear me stomping my feet??? DH thinks that I'll use it for two weeks and be done with it. Everyone I've talked to really likes it.

A gym classwith no one in it?!?!?!? I have got to move to Pittsburgh. I gave up my gym membership. I could never get into a class. They were packed beyond belief. Trying to get on equipment was impossible outside of going at 4AM or 10PM.

I like it. It feels like a game, but it does get you to break a sweat, and lots of the activities really get your heart rate up there. I was actually a little surprised at how working the "hula hoop" can get me panting!

That is awesome Kim! I made it to the gym 3x's last week and I went tonight. My favorite class is Body Flow which is a pilates, yoga, Tai Chi mix. It is so relaxing. I think it is great for toning. I am down 3 lbs myself

Keep up the good work.

4 lbs a week is normal at first. Water weight is the first to go. 2 lbs a week is the most healthy rate to maintain. Remember the first place you put weight on is the last place it comes off! Like they say, you can't empty the deep end of the pool before first emptying the shallow end! :rotfl2:

Hey there - another WiiFat! fan here! I just bought that Jillian whoever Wii game yesterday & spent my morning so far trying to figure it out...I think I may need new batteries in my balance board...'cause it says I've lost 20 lbs! ok hahahah I KNOW that's not true.

We have those same Body - pump, flow, & vive at our gym too....The morning classes are so hard to get into...

I think I'm going to try the RPM bike class tomorrow.....

Congrats on the 4 lbs Kim. I joined the weigh loss challenge at my gym. I am hoping the competition will keep me going. It has only been one week and the women in first place lost 7.35%. I am pretty sure I might not be able to keep up with her.

I have never heard of that class, but it sounds like fun. The classes at my Y have been PACKED. My favorite class on Friday you have to be there 25 minutes before to sign up. This is much harder when you have a 4 year old in tow. I wish I had the time to go to the gym everyday. I hate working out at home.

Great Job!!! :thumbsup2

Great job! I have been in WW since 2-2007, I just reached my goal Jan 3rd this year :thumbsup2 total loss was 26 lbs. I did yoag, gym and walked. I lost most of it in the first year, then played with 10, then 5 lbs. Now I am where I need to be :) Just make sure you dont get stuck on #'s. Your wieght will be all over the place while your body adjusts to eating different and the work outs. Just do things right and let the #'s work out after a good amount of time. People get stuck on the week to week # and that just doesn't pay off.

Best of luck! Keep it up!
