Last night, as the houselady that helps with Gabby's mom was driving around doing errands on her way home, she passed by a known crack house. Sadly, I will say that our niece, F, was spotted in there. I find this to be extremely sad, but not unexpected. I so hope that F gets the help that she so desperately needs. It's so heartbreaking to see a beautiful girl with such great potential just throw it all away.

The up side to this is, that Gabby, who is in Orlando, trying to enjoy her annual girls trip, is going to be heading back to her hometown to do the guardianship thing ASAP and go ahead and take Baby M into her custody. Once we have guardianship, we are going to go ahead and file to adopt.

O M G! I am closer than I have ever been to being a Mama. Having that sweet baby out of harms way will be the best thing that has happened to our lives all year.

She is so beautiful. There is a light in her eyes. I am praying that you will know the absolute joy of being a mother very soon. The pictures show what a beautiful person she will become. That light in her eyes that you see, it's only there when Gabby or her mom is in the room and if given the choice of who she wants to have pay attention to her, she always goes to Gabby. Gabby took those pictures and I can't tell you how much I treasure them.

The saddest part of the whole night was when F told Gabby that she is pretty sure that Gabby loves Baby M more than she does. Gabby told her that she thought that she was probably right about that.

It's true, I have 3 great loves in my life. My father, Gabby, and my grand niece...in no particular order.

That little girl is so very beautiful. I so hope it all works out so that you can both raise her and keep her safe.

I fully believe that addiction is an illness. However, I do not believe an innocent child (or any person) should suffer for the illness of another.

Today's good news is that we finally have a hand written letter of intent from F in hand. This letter states that should something happen to her that she only wants Gabby to take custody of the child.

For now, F is still claiming that she is doing nothing wrong and her brother, Big M, who is a really good kid in spite of his mother believes her, so with a huge grain of salt we are trying to keep an open mind. After tonight though, it's painfully clear that Gabby's sister, who is F's mom, has no reason to be in charge of watching the baby at all. Big M came into his mother's house, Baby M was screaming at the top of her lungs and STANDING UP IN THE HIGH CHAIR UNATTENDED. Big M ran over and scooped her up and went outside and found that his mother was on her cell phone and he said what in the heck are you doing? The baby could have been hurt, you can not just ****ing leave her alone like that. To say that I want to strangle B right now is a massive understatement. Generally Big M is a very respectful young man, so I am cutting him some slack for yelling at his mother like that because I am proud that he showed such self restraint.

Gabby told F that whenever she needs to leave the baby, just leave Baby M with her, as long as she is in town, otherwise, Gabby said to leave the baby with her other sister, L, who is older than I am and never raised any kids, and she will just have to deal. lol

I got a little good news today. One of the jobs that I put in for Thursday night asked me to fill out a more indepth application and it's a full time job doing the same sort of thing that I do now. I am hopeful that it might be the job that I get offered. There is one other job a bit further away, but it is in a pediatric after hours clinic and if I had my choice, even though I would have to drive further, I would rather do the peds job with the longer drive, but I am waiting to see who else responds. I have put in about 10 applications so far for jobs that I know that I can do. Some are in my field and others are not.

BTW: Who in the world would have thought that Librarians made as much money as they do with just a High School Diploma? I was shocked by what they were willing to pay. Needless to say I put in for the position.

This story continues to be one of the saddest I'm following. I really hope that little M gets to live in a safe environment and know that she is loved.
