After throwing around the idea for the past few years we finally did it. I know nothing is done until it's done but we made an offer and it was accepted (through the Time Share Store) and now we are just waiting to close. I hope that Disney doesn't do that ROFR thing and take my timeshare. Now here is my question: Where can I get some of that cool DVC stuff like car stickers and other things that have DVC on them or the resort that I bought into (Boardwalk)? I completely want to overdo this. Also, once it is all official when do I get to learn the secret DVC handshake and codewords? I am so pumped!

Congratulations and Welcome Home!!!

you can get some of the stuff on your first visit to BWV!

that say if you really want some now you can generally find something on ebay.

just don't buy something that would cost you if you waited under $15 - for over a $100.

First of all, I think it's a violation of DIS posting policies to even mention the secret handshake!

But seriously, you don't get any of that stuff until you're closed and "in the system." You'll get a PIN number to the member website and a few weeks later you'll recieve your blue membership card and decoder ring. You need the decoder ring to view the video of the handshake on the member website.

When you get to WDW, you can show your membership card and buy the special DVC My Pal Mickey, which will allow you to practice and perfect the handshake. Once you have that down, DVC-MPM will teach you the wave, wink, and all the other stuff.

Some of the above is true.

Thanks and I will be jumping on ebay. I'm actually staying at the Swan in April so I can't wait to take a walk over and stroll around my new home away from home!

OH, sorry about that didn't know about the violation. Thanks for the info on that stuff, I know I'll get some stuff when it closes but I figured while I'm waiting I'd check out some DVC paraphernalia and maybe scoop some up, the EBay thing looks promising. I know it sounds silly but I'm pumped about getting one of those little round BWV sticker for my car! By the way, they don't even mention the "DVC My Pal Mickey" on the tour or the free DVD! So good to know!

I do hope you pass ROFR and can join in all the fun the BWV has to offer. You sound so psyched and so enthusiastic. You'll have many years ahead of you to enjoy your DVC.

Thanks, I'm psyched, my wife is psyched and my kids are psyched. I purposely went a couple of dollars higher per point on my offer than what I had heard is the imaginary cutoff point where Disney will grab them up so I hope it works out. Do you guys hear of a lot of people losing out on ROFR?

If you went "higher", you maybe should have purchased direct from Disney. No waiting, and closing costs should be less than resale. Even though it is a sold out resort, there are always things available direct if you just ask and maybe wait a bit.

I'm with you. Waiting for ROFR for my BWV has become a new obsession...:rolleyes1

this is hysterical!!

I’m also waiting on my BWV ROFR, I “thought” it was submitted to Disney on 2-15, just found out today it didn’t go until 2-21….:confused3

oh boy, another one drank the kool aid! :cool1:

Hey, he just admitted he wants in on the mug debate. He's found other weirdos just like him - and there isn't a better feeling than saying 'I'm not alone in the world.....'

(Welcome home).
