Nylon vs polyester carpet

I'm carpet shopping and so confused. Nylon, polyester, weight, twist... ugh.

Is it me or does polyester seem shinier than nylon? Is it worth the extra money to get nylon, I mean does it resist stains and wear better? Do weight / twist matter? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nylon is said to wear better than polyester

We replaced carpets a year ago on stairs and second floor, and they still look great. We got Nylon (Anso Nylon) and splurged for an 8lb pad.
Paid $2.59/ft for tear out, pad, and installation. Great quality! I don't know if Polyester would have been that big of a savings. But when doing research, Nylon was considered the better choice.

Definitely get nylon! It wears better and has better stain resistance but you do need to research brands along with carpet weight, twists, etc.

Get some nice hardwoods and ditch the gross carpeting. Use a few throw rugs that can be easily replaced.
