Crowd wise, DHS is probably most recommended that day next to AK(which is good during the day, but nothing at night, obviously). MK is generally considered craziest, and you can catch same fireworks on the 30th, with a few less peopleEpcot doesn't feel as crowded, as it is more spread out, but you do deal with some drunkenness in WS. I sent friends to DHS two years ago for NYE on their first Disney trip ever, since it was lower crowds than the others and they loved it. Got later day FP and early dinner at 50sPT and enjoyed the fireworks. They are going to try Epcot this yr. to see something different and kids are now older teens so not as worried about dealing with any drunk behavior.(and no Osbourne Lts to do at DHS). With the boat between them, you could always hop if your tickets allow!
I was there until dinner time two years ago on NYE, and it was crowded, but not insane-- and that was when there were still things to do there
They will have noise makers and fireworks; I'm sure it will be very festive.
We tried it a few years ago. It was when there still was American Idol Experience, and we had a good time. Since then we've gone to Epcot, but this year we're going to DHS again.
