NYE

We arrive 12/31 at 5:30pm. Had planned to not have a park day, but it wasn't much to add on a day so we're considering going to a park. Have never been there for NYE. Experience or suggestions for that night? Do the resorts have any events, too? We're staying at POP.

Some parks do a phased closing. I was at Magic Kingdom for last New Year's Eve and the park reached capacity by around 11 AM. Be prepared for as many people as you've ever seen in the parks.
