NYE WWYD??

We are coming in for 3 nights for NYE and I'm considering booking GF or Poly... Not a huge price difference and we plan on watching the fireworks from the resort bc I think the park will be way too busy for my kids. Where would you stay? Thanks for your help

We have stayed at both over NYE. The good news is you can easily walk from one to the other. GF has a festive atmosphere the band in the lobby and a balloon drop. When we were there they both handed out hats and noisemakers. We were Poly CL and they had a roped off area on the beach for CL guests to watch the fireworks. I would simply pick the resort you would enjoy at anytime.

The jump in price for CL is substantial so this info can help you determine if it's for you. FWIW both of these hotels on NYE sound magical!

Poly - Club Level - Theme Park View. You'll have your own private balcony viewing of the NYE fireworks.
The Contemporary Resort isn't bad for this either and any Theme Park view room on the tower will give a great view of the fireworks.

The GF has the "worst" view for the fireworks but has the balloon drop and dance in the lobby.

Thank you!! Yeah I figured it would be a big price jump. I'm just going to have to do some research and see if CL will be beneficial to my family. I definitely know we will not be in the parks for the fireworks bc my 2 yr old is frightened by them so I would like to have a good view from our resort.

And here's one from my Polynesian room balcony the year before that - Hawaii CL -Theme Park View which cost me an arm and a leg! (Note the cabanas were still being built so they're not lit up yet and they will be now. (The little white blob in the lower center of the picture is Cinderella's Castle. ) You can also get this view from the beach which you will be allowed on as you'll be staying at the Polynesian without paying for CL.


You get a more straight-on view of the fireworks from the Poly

Wow!!! I love the view you had from the contemporary! Thank you for sharing. As of right now all the theme park view rooms at the Contemporary are booked. I'll continue to watch for a possible cancellation. It was my first choice but since it's booked up those were my other 2 choices.

Keep checking - I got my rooms for the Contemporary booked in October last year - I don't think they open up all the rooms at once.
