Nan, I cancelled the DCL bus and booked Payless Transportation. We're using a van instead of a limo for luggage reasons for the 6 of us. It's only $230 from the WL to the Port, and then from the Port to MCO. The bus would have cost us $420.

I'm so glad mom is excited about the cruise.
So what plans do you have for Christmas at WDW?

thanks for the info and the answer is NONE

I'd like to know too please~

Any assistance I can give you, just let me know...

I got all day to make phone calls and make Disney plans for others~

Are you kidding me, you go girl

We have:

Skjerven family 4 (you know us) 4
Lee, Rene (boyfriend) & Mom 3
Niece & Husband 2
Nephew & Wife and baby 2
Nephew & Wife & 12 year old girl 3
Sisters 2
More nephews 5

I count 21 people.

We are flexible on hotels, I have to just start getting an idea on costs. The nicer the better, but I can't imagine that we would/could afford AKL conceirge for this many.

I think we will arrive around 12/20 and then leave 12/27 ( of course us on the cruise, the rest of them home)

If you really are game to make some pre-lim calls that would be AWESOME!!!!!

I have my cell on and we will be in the car to Dland shortly, you know the drill I'll call you 30 minutes out (NOT!!!! We are arriving until after midnight since we are leaving so late.)

Did I mention we are celebrating the wedding of our repo cruise mates in Dland this weekend? Maybe not, Zip over to our thread and you can see the pics of the wedding and I bet even some from our weekend reunion.

Have a good weekend everyone catch ya when we get back :woohoo:

I'll get hopping on some info for ya Nan ::yes::

No! You didn't mention a trip to DL :(

Have a great time!

Nan, have fun at DL! Do I really need to tell you that?:lmao: Have you thought of the Wilderness Lodge for Christmas? It's one of the lower priced deluxes, with a beautiful view, a beach, the boat to MK, the duckies and bunnies, and me!

Hi Colleen & Hi Everybody

Well, I did it! I got rid of my 2 TON (slightly exaggerated) 20 year old, 50" tv. It still worked; but, it took up soooo much room & one wheel was gone. I went to the base exchange px & got a 50" flat screen panasonic tv. It was marked $2199. I've known the salesman for years & he gave me a discount & I got it for $1899. (no tax). You can even put one of those picture SD cards in it you use in your camera & computer. He said you can hook the computer up to it too.

My living room looks so much bigger now.

It is absolutely awesome.
Don't forget to get the HD service. Dishnetwork acted like a heroin dealer, "here the first is free". I'm hooked now, but what a picture. :happytv:

Went to the MD today, only a partial tear, no surgery, should be back to full duty in two weeks. :dance3:

Useful Tips I've learned from a Cruising Info thread:

#1 - The DVC seminar raffles off $300 onboard credits during their seminars.
#2 - Auction attendees get free drinks
#3 - Repeat Cruisers should ask for Lanyards and possibly pins at check in.

Mom, you've tried this ride before, haven't you?

;)

Most definitely. At one point we were in the water & next thing you know we were sitting on the edge. That was 2004 on the 7 day turned 10 Western Cruise because of a hurricane.

Gee, there arn't any people in that video. There were quite a few of us in the pool the day we had our ride.

Claudia's parents were just here for dinner, her mom reminded me of the heart warming story.

A married couple was in a terrible accident where the woman's face was severely burned. The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from her body because she was too skinny. So, the husband offered to donate some of his own skin. However, the only skin on his body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from his buttocks. The husband and wife agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and requested that the doctor also honor their secret. After all, this was a very delicate matter.

After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the woman's new beauty. She looked more beautiful than she ever had before! All her friends and relatives just went on and on about her youthful beauty!

One day, she was alone with her husband, and she was overcome with emotion at his sacrifice. She said, "Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. There is no way I could ever repay you."

"My darling," he replied, "I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek."

Actually, Claudia's mom is a super lady and has a great sense of humor, I know this because if she didn't I would be dead by now. :) I think she would be disappointed if I didn't torture her.

I would LOVE to be in the pool with the water going wild like that. I didn't go in the pool not even once last cruise. Jesse said the Goofy pool was like that a time or two when he was in it, but not as boad as that youtube video. Cool! Let's hope for rough seas!:rotfl:

That thread is awesome. I'm definitely going to take advantage of a lot of those tips, especially the free drinks. Anyone wanna go to the auction with me? No bidding, just drinking!:thumbsup2

That's hilarious!!!

Artman, your MIL sounds like a cool lady!

Busy weekend for me. Yesterday I went to a bridal shower with the wine flowing like water! I thought I'd be ok imbibing, since there was a 4-course meal to soak up all that alcohol. I was wrong! I fell right to sleep as soon as I got home at 6 pm, and slept the whole night through. I have fuzzy memories of busting all the waiters chops, all in good fun!

Went to see my dear Fr Casey today. He's doing so well, considering the Parkinson's. He teared up when he saw me, since I haven't seen him in a month. Had me crying like a baby. Then we had to laugh, it was only a month, not a year for corn's sake!!!!!! He was in Florida with a bunch of priest friends on a retreat. I was a smarty pants and asked him "where's my present (souvie) from his trip, TOTALLY HONESTLY NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING. But he pulls out a stone from his pocket that he picked up on the retreat grounds, and said it was so beautiful, he thought of me and wanted me to have it. God, I love that man. What a blessing to me.

Now I have to make sure Jesse has his hw done, clean up a bit, and settle down for the night, which means more dissing!

Luv youse guys! BBL

Isn't it amazing how special something that simple can be, knowing it came from his heart~

It's a *true* blessing that you and he can appreciate the simple things together

Another jam packed weekend here - game Friday night in the rain and we lost big time - I dont go to away games - long night since they didn't get back to school until about 12:30 a.m. Sat morning and of course starved kid - so bunch of us ended up at Waffle House

Sat they had band practice most of the day - fed the kid - dropped off to meet friends at park and then off to low brass/baritone/susa party

Swim season offically started tonight - paid for everything and once again broke - coach yelled at Kara and told her she has to get on the ball this year I told coach he could ride her hinney all he wants

She is finishing up homework

Marla, a mama's job is never done! You're living proof of that!

Good morning! I just got back from the gym. I went early this morning, got there at 6:30, because yoga is tonight and I want to give my body some time to recover before that.

Jesse wants to quit his job at the rectory. It was only supposed to be for the summer, but they'd like him to stay. The money is great for doing office work, but the two days after school and the whole day Saturday will interfere with lacross. They could switch his days, but I said he could quit, since this year is very important and I want him focused on school. He works on Wednesdays from 4 to 9, and I teach 5th grade starting at 3 on that day, so I told him I'd pick him up from school and he could be my assistant until 4. I told him it would look good on his college application, but he did convince me that school and work is already stressing him out.

I'm wondering how Brenda is doing in San Francisco with her 3-day walk. I can't wait for her to come back and tell us how it went. I hope they raised a ton of money for breast cancer awareness.

Today I'm going to call and have all my Disney Rewards points put on my cards. I want to make sure I get them in time for the cruise in case there's a transfer delay. This happened to me in 2006 when I went to WDW. I waited until the last minute and didn't get my points in time. :headache: Now I hear they have a policy that you can take your card to Guest Services at Downtown Disney and automatically have the points added, but I'm not taking any chances. If I acquire any more points from now until cruise time,I'll probably go and do that. But the big lump amount I want on my card NOW.

Lunch with a couple of girlfriends today, and then cleaning house. That's my day.

How's everyone today?????:)

Yep a mom's job is never done

Sleepy here - was up at crack of dawn to take Kara and her projects to school

She has doctor's appointment right after school, we need to stop at music store and find out where her new mouthpiece for baritone is and dry land for swim - all by 5:30 p.m. - and the madness continues here

have a good one everyone

Hey everyone!!! 110 days til the cruise!!!

I so can not wait!!! I hope that Ike leaves Key West intact.. I would hate to miss that port. Brian has a friend in the CG stationed there. If he is not underway on a ship, he plans on meeting up w/us and hanging out.

I saw there was a clothing optional bar in Key West, and when I told Chad about it, he said,"I'd better not see you there!" HE WON'T! I'm not THAT wild! (Maybe I'll just take a quick peek in! LOL)

Do you all realie we're almost down to double digits? Who's going to be the first to do the double digit dance on that day? Hmmm, I can guess!!!!!!!!!!

I'm stalling, because I got an email from a credit card company where I just opened a new account, was approved, everything ok. But now the email says they have "some questions" for me. Geez, I hope they don't ask me where I work, since I'll have to say NOWHERE! Ok, I'm feeling brave now, I'll make the call.:scared:

I just got off the phone with Citibank, and it was nothing. They just wanted to now if I wanted to upgrade my card to a Business card instead of a personal card. Phewwwwww now I can breathe again!

Would he not have to be there as well to see you there?

If a mom goes into a nudie bar and her son is not there to see her, is she actually there?

BTW, exactly what type of google searches are you doing to come up with a hit like that? :goodvibes
