Judy and Robin are going to post pics of their families for me to put on my family's site.

Anjelica, I looked through your photos of Chas. he looks really tall, and handsome in his uniform!

Hi everyone! Just checking in to spill the beans regarding new developments in my life.

I found out this week that I've been accepted (finally!) to study for a degree in Criminology and Criminal Psychology at University starting in October!!! :woohoo: I have wanted to do this course for a couple of years but got turned down both times before. Third time lucky certainly applies here... Anyway, it's a 3 year full-time course and I may stay on for an extra year's study and qualify as a fully-fledged Psychologist!!! Of course, it's a little nerve-wracking to be hanging with all the 18 year olds BUT I'm just so delighted to be there - I'll be talking "street" before you know it!!! :cool2:

I'm going to the campus tomorrow (absolutely gorgeous World Heritage site in historic Greenwich!) to select my options and collect my timetable... I'm so unprepared - need new studenty clothes, a studenty bag and I'd better order a copy of M/soft Office for the Mac!!! ;)

Tigg, I sincerely hope you find a course that really suits - there are so many fab subjects out there, it's an exciting time to be studying IMO...

As for David Blaine, I remember going to see him a few years ago when he was suspended over the Thames in a perspex box - that time I think he was there for weeks...

Wow this sounds really cool!!! I'm also ditching my job of 20+ years and looking back at school. I studied Poly Sci, but also have a fancy for Criminology. Even had a college onsite interview with the FBI many moons ago. Of course now I'm too old for that sport, but maybe there is something in that field that would work for a middle aged mom with 2 kids at home, ya think???? I've always felt like that was an opportunity that I should have taken a chance on, but let fear get in my way....:sad2:

Off to Reno tomorrow for a long weekend of go-kart racing.

Did I tell you that Wilson won his first race last Sunday???? If I didn't I'm a dork!!!! After 3 years of hard work he WON!!!! We are neddless to say very proud!!!! Hoping for good mojo for this weekend to carry him :thumbsup2

He's a very cute kid and yes pretty tall. He is 6' 2" and towers over me (for the longest time I was taller then him and then he hit puberty). That was one thing that really upset him the past few weeks after he came out of the drug induced hazed. He truly didn't/doesn't think any woman would want him now that he has a "stump". He doesn't have a wife, steady gf or kids and never seemed to be in a rush pre-combat. I keep reassuring him that yes sweety you will find a special and woman who is going to totally look past the leg thing. Hopefully the nurses will keep flirting with him (new nurse and psych doctor have taken a likening to him) as that always seems to make him feel better and believe he's still attractive.

Tigg/Trinijill - I just got done rereading some of the earlier threads while I was out and I am so sad that you guys aren't coming. That sucks but I know everyone wants whats best for you guys. I'm glad to see you are still sticking around with us folk...:)

EVERYONE - Please take a gander at the website and if I have any missing info for your group let me know.

ALSO - EVERYONE - There is still room on the private tour boat excursion for Grand Cayman. They will take us to stingray city, rum beach, etc. and will also provide lunch. This is a very reputable company and has gotten great reviews (nativeway sports). This is an "all day" excursion and young children are allowed (I'm taking my 5 and 2 year old children). The cost is approximately 65.00 per person AND includes lunch. This is cheaper and more "private" than the group excursions or going through DCL. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions and I will get back to you.

Well its off for me tonight - I will chit-chat with you lovely people tomorrow.

Grim, don't look now but the CB has a badger thread :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know how to link a thread, tell me please techno wizzards :worship:

Aisling - here is the family photo!!

Thanks, Robin. I'm going to work on resizing it.

Anjelica, I'm going over to your website in a minute.:thumbsup2 As for Chas and his stump, he's going to meet guys in the same situation who have wonderful girfriends/wives who fell in love with their men after they lost their legs, and that'll put his mind at ease.

Kaz and Nan, what's with the Criminology? You two been watching too much Law & Order on tv!!! Seriously, go for it, both of you. There are so many people changing careers in mid-life.

Congratulations to Wilson!

Let me know if I can somehow give you a different link, or PM me and tell me what to do. Actually I liked it that small, we all looked a little bit smaller than in reality!! I could use losing all the pounds I can!

I hear ya, sister!
I put it up as is, didn't resize it. Thanks! You're on photo page 6.

Congratulations Wilson on your first of many Wins!!!!

Anjelica, I had a feeling you missed our bailout...I was very, very sad when I had to cancel but happy knowing I will make a point to sail another time and will truly let all of my cruising friends know when so we can try to hook up one day.

Nan, if you have no plans for Grand Cayman, maybe you and your family can do the boat tour with Anjelica...I know we opened up two spots and I think Deb bailing left three. Anjelica - correct me if I am wrong please.

I have an appointment today with the AutoCAD school (Computer Aided Drafting - Architecture.) For as long as I've known Aisling, I just found out on my trip to NYC that that is what her Mel does. It's computer related and creative with potential for good income. It may be second on my list of things I'd like to do, but it's a very close second to the Media Production.

Nan, good luck in choosing your new path my friend! I did a ton of research over this past weekend just to narrow my choices down to three. It's not the easiest to find a new path at my(our) age but it is totally do-able!

Happy Thursday Magic Mateys!

Native Way Sports Private Excursion Details (Grand Cayman stop):

I guess it would help if I actually gave the details on the Native Way Sports Private Excursion so folks actually know what the heck I am talking about....

http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/ is the website that gives quite a bit of information. We have opted to go for the full day private charter - this is $650.00 for the first 12 people and then $50.00 per person after that. Additionally there is a $10.00 charge per person for lunch on all full day private charters (they apparently call ahead to the restaurant and put the orders in so that when we get to the restaurant its ready to go and we don't have to eat - I believe this is at the Rum Point stop as that is the restaurant they do business with).

The full day private charter meets the Native Way folks at 915 on the pier. They provide all the transportation to the boats (http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/our_boats.htm) and back to the ship. The full day private charter is approximately 5+ hours and they have a guarantee to get us back to the ship by around 3-330.

The private day charter is somewhat flexible in where we can go but I know one thing that everyone has wanted to do was stingray city. Additionally we would probably need to include a stop at Rum Beach as that is the restaurant stop. The third or so stop is up to us (the group) and no one has had any definite thoughts on that yet. An example of some of their tours can be found at http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/tours.htm.

I had to put a guarantee down on my CC several months ago for the December timeframe. We decided to do this soon as many reviews stated they fill up quickly and months in advance so I wanted to make sure we got a boat. We pay the amount once we meet the native way representatives for our excursion and if for some reason the boat cannot dock my cc will NOT get charged. If we pay with CC when we get down there they do add the 5% or so service charge but if we pay with cash there is no service charge.

Some comments from their website http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/customer_comments.htm and you can go to cruisecritic and look them up as they have quite a few comments.

At this time the party size has fluctuated a tad bit due to folks not being able to cruise with us...:( But right now this is what I have for groups going:

Aisling - 4 total people from party going **Aisling correct me if this has changed
Anjelica - 4 total people from party going
Disneykelly73 - 2 total people going **Tentative

Definetly let me know if you are interested in doing the excursion so I can get the party sized a tad bit more firmed up. I just need to send final numbers to Nativeway within the next couple of months but regardless of sending in numbers we have a guaranteed boat for us.

Additionally, I wanted to do this excursion because it gets us away from the big crowds and allowed me to bring both of my children (even if they don't get into the water) and I wanted to enjoy this with the whole family. It was also quite a bit cheaper than going through DCL and we had more choices in what we wanted to do. We also got to be around our DIS friends instead of total strangers.

I tried not to click, thinking do I want that music carved into my brain again. But alas it is like a crack addiction, I just could not stop myself.

Next thing you know Grim is going to be selling the soundtrack for us addicts.....You get no more freebees now you have to pay. ;)

I got sucked into it, too!:rotfl:

My mind is fried from the annoying music/noise.

I am cleansing by listening to "It's a Small World" curled up in the fetal position under my bed.

Angelica, count us in for 5: me, Chad, Jesse, Louise and Cory, for the chartered boat. :thumbsup2 I'll be happy to send you the money whever you say.:goodvibes

I think we may be backing out of the Tulum excursion, as it'll be a long hot day with only 1.5 hours at the site, and the rest is travel time. We have to decide by Saturday night.

The first thing I'm going to book is the Wild Side on CC for the kids, as it's very limited, and they really want to do it.

It's Friday!

Instructions for how to catch a badger:

First dig a hole, next pour a can of peas around the hole.
When the badger stops for a pee, kick him in the hole.
