Hi, We'll be there for 4 nites and wondered what (if any) special activites take place on the Boardwalk on New Years Eve. I thought maybe some of you staying at the Boardwalk Villas may have already checked this out (for this year or from past experiences).

We just want to have a back-up plan in case Epcot gets too crazy for our family of 5.

Thanks,
Lissa

Here's what was in the latest VM

2 special celebrations -- One with party favors and a live DJ starts the NYE bash on the Village Green. Begins at 7:00 p.m. and runs until 1:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Fun for all ages and it's free.

At Atlantic Dance Hall from 8:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. join us for a memorable evening of food, champagne, live entertainment and party favors galore. Tickets go on sale 12/31 at noon and may be purchased at the door. Just $30 per person and not a penny more.

The Atlantic Dance party is quite a change -- in past year's it's been a very expensive blowout. This sounds like it could be a lot of fun, especially if the weather is bad.

From what friends have told me, just hanging on the Boardwalk at the stroke of midnight is a ton of fun... We'll be there too, so we hope they are right!

Pam & Pentex,

Thanks for the info. I figured they would try to have something extra. The live DJ on the Village Green may be just what we're looking for if we can't wait it out inside of Epcot.

Pentex, maybe we'll see you there! If I get a chance, I'll try to pick up some lime green ribbons.

Thanks again!

Lissa

Curses to you Profdsny......SHHHHHH....the Gods shall shine upon us the NYE....(sorry you had bad weather) but PLEASE no 4 letter words on this family forum..:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Well, the good thing about "wet confetti" is that it will keep the crowds down. ;) Hopefully, it'll be such a beautiful day that all of Florida will want to be there. :)

Well we'll try for it again this year. We got stuck last year waiting for our ps at Whispering Canyon because no one was leaving due to the rain. A 815 turned into a 10. For 3 people!

My wife and I are thinking about the Atlantic Dance "party", but find the same day ticket sales (no advance sales before the day of the event) a bit disconcerting. For one thing, it will necessitate (sp?) leaving a park to go to AD to buy tickets. (I guess we'll hang out at Epcot) The other concern is a PS we made at The Yachtsman Steak House for that evening. Holiday PS's require 24 hours cancellation notice to avoid a $10 per person cancellation fee. I don't want to cancel until we have AD tix in hands. Called WDW-DINE, and was told that the cancellation fee would probably be waved, but no promise could be made. I guess I shouldn't be concerned, but twenty bucks is twenty bucks! Any idea how I should go about appealing the charge if it's applied?

It would take time out of your day but you might consider walking over to the YS after you get the tickets, showing them the tickets and telling them that's why you won't be able to make your PS.
