Have you started making those yet?

I am attending (I hope) a nice black tie affair.

We have absolutely no idea. We're going to be away over the holidays for the first time ever this year. We have Christmas Eve and Day planned but no idea yet for NYE. I'm kind of leaving that up to my parents since that's who we will be visiting to decide if they'd like to go out somewhere or stay in.

On January 3, though, we're heading over to WDW!!

Hmmm - black tie - I think I vaguely remember a time when we'd do something like that. Have fun!

I'm going to be in Aspen from the 24th of December until the 3rd of January. So, New Years Day I'll probably be on the slopes, having the time of my life!

I will be spending NYE and NYD at my parents' house. Some longtime family friends and their daughter are going to be staying with this. They are skiiers and they will be spending a few days in the area to ski and visit. We will probably board and card games on NYE.

Early in the evening we will have dinner and finger foods at home with the kids, then later on we will go to Karaoke at the local pub and DD will babysit for DS.

We have a hotel booked in Times Square from the 30th-2nd. These plans might have to change because the closing date on our house is tentatively set for December 31, so we'll see. I'm still well within the cancellation date for our booking.

Though I'm happy to sell the house, I'll be a bit bummed - NYE in NYC is one of those things I've always wanted to do and never thought I'd get there. But...we're still young. It'll happen! :goodvibes

Hope you close on your house as I'm sure you are anxious to move in.

I think we'll have to live vicariously through all of you. We usually go to friends house for NYE but this year they are going through divorce :(
Well, we think they are getting one, the wife is all lovey dovey one minute then not the next:rolleyes1

Aww, I've always wanted to do a black tie NYE party! I wish our friends/family were into that sort of thing. We usually hit a bar for a bit and then back to a friends place for more drinks and the ball drop.

NYE - Nothing...sitting home...hopefully with DH...NYD...a lot of the same..LOL

I REALLY want to go to Citywalk..this year they are having Brett Micheals playing...but I just dont have the extra money to go

That is the night we are having our (late) Christmas with my side of the family, it is about a 5 hour drive for us. My brother and his wife work in law enforcement (she will get off at 3pm that day) and 1 nephew is a fireman and the other is a 911 dispatcher, so we always work around their schedule to find one evening everyone has off. This year it just happens to be NYE! The next day is their DD's birthday (NYD) so we will get together again that day for her party.

Awesome!! Can you assign POA to your realtor for closing? Then you don't have to be there at all :) It's what we did for our last closing b/c neither of us could take off work!

We'll be on an airplane somewhere over the Pacific ocean..... :goodvibes

I just looked at your ticker and am jealous!! How long of a flight is it? I have always wanted to go to Bora Bora...just to stay in that resort where the cottages are out over the ocean!!!! Fun!

Going to be sleeping, since I'll probably be one of the first ones up the lifts in Aspen New Years Day. Christmas Eve/Day, I have the same plan.

I am throwing a cocktail party for friends at my house. We have done it in the past and it is always a lot of fun and so much cheaper than going to any bar.

Will you be bringing a date this time? Sure hope so.. You will probably have a lot more fun..:goodvibes

But then again, if there's going to be "singles" there - a man all dressed up for a black tie event can turn some heads..;)

No plans here.. I usually listen to the top 100 hits of the year on the stereo and start getting things ready for income tax time..:thumbsup2

I don't care for NYE - never have - even when I was much younger..:upsidedow

NYE is our 16th wedding anniversary. :goodvibes. We'll be spending it just like we did last year...hanging out at Disney. :)

Congrats on your 16th wedding anniversary!!! :goodvibes

I imagine it will be pretty darn crowded at Disney, but probably lots of fun...:thumbsup2 What's it like there on NYE? Do they do anything differently?

We have a few invites so I am not sure what we will do.
Either Vegas, Epcot or a party here in Chicago.

We are both off the week between Christmas and New Years so we may go out of town.
