NYE in the MK?

We will be spending our first NYE at WDW in the Magic kingdom and would love to hear your experiences from last year. We know that it will be very crowded, and that getting there early and making PS's are a must, but does anyone have any other tips? Any help would be very appreciated!!

That about says it all.

I've spent 3 of them in the MK; the last one last year; I doubt I will ever again spend another one there.

My next NYE @ Disney will be spent in a deluxe hotel with either a view of the Castle OR in the Epcot area that I can just walk home when I want.

Epcot..... I thought that was as crowded if not worse than MK....

Epcot has more space to spread out, so even though it's just as crowded as MK, there seems to be a bit more "elbow room" in the crowd. MGM will be packed too. No way around it -- wherever you are on NYE, it'll be crowded.

I have done New Years Eve 2 times at Disney

97-98 we did it at MGM. Not bad. We caught huey lewis and the news in concert. we were still able to walk around and ride a few things. this was before rock n rollercoaster and fantasmick were there. had a big party in the big square and hollywood ave. lots of loud music, confette and fireworks.

99-00 was CRAZY...at 7:30am, all 4 parks were closed. we had to go the back way, park at swan, since they dont check id to park, and walk to world showcase entrance. the line went all the way back to the ship of SAb pool. took about an hour.

it was so busy, they had a cast member letting poeople inat a side gate. just show your park hopper and get in, never got swiped. so we basically got that day for free.

did not do anything all day. just sat, and sat, and sat in between shoulder rubs in a few shops here and there.

we have not been back for thanksgiving or christmas since.
