NYE - FoP FP+ Modifying Advice

Just scored an 8PM Fastpass + for FoP on 12/31. Great, except it's right in the middle of dinner. Does anyone think my odds are better keeping it and modifying to an earlier time? Or should I go back to my original plan, rope drop FoP and Fastpass+ gets used on Na'Vi?

It's all personal preference. I would keep the FP. I avoid rope dropping FoP just because it's too many people and too stressful for my taste. I would rather spend that time in other areas of the park riding attractions with much shorter waits.

Option two is you can try to change the dinner reservation so you can do both by setting up an alert on a reservation finder. You can also continue to keep checking for a better time for FoP.

The third option is you can drop the FP and ride FoP at park close if you don't want to rope drop FoP.

Agreed, I'd like to avoid rope drop in that direction if I can. Due to other plans, dinner's immovable. I might ditch the FP+ if i get closer and haven't been able to modify it, and squeeze it in some other time during the trip - just thought landing the FP at all was fortunate!

Try looking the night before and the morning of. People change their plans last minute and drop FPs.It takes persistence but sometimes you get lucky. If that doesn’t work, check throughout the day as well. Search refresh here if you’re not already familiar.

I wouldn't do RP for FoP during a busy time of year. I just tried it on the Friday before Veteran's Day. It was kind of a nightmare and a huge time suck. I'd do park closing again over that experience any time.

Just work on trying to modify although at your time of travel, may not be easy.

Do not give up your FP for FOP. They allow 5 minutes before or 15 after and also might accommodate delays due to transportation or dining reservations.
That is why we see so many empty tables with no walk ups anymore. Disney is allowing for these types of delays

Actually I'm headed to Flying Fish that night, their 8:30 NYE dinner event thing. So, can't move that!

I appreciate everyone's responses! I'll keep refreshing and trying to modify the FP.
