NYE/EPCOT Taxi Question

We were so fortunate to get SSR for the entire week of 12/27 - 1/3, just last week. We are planning on spending the day at EPCOT on New Year's Eve.

I cannot imagine what the bus situation will be like after the park closes at midnight. Is there a way to pre-reserve a Checker cab or do you think there will be enough outside the front entrance?

Where will they be parked at EPCOT? Does anyone have any idea on the price for a cab to SSR?

The bus lines will be crowded but there will be plenty of buses. I've noticed that Disney contracts extra buses from all over FL for the holidays just to handle the holiday peak.

We've done NYE at MK and DHS (not Epcot though) and our wait, walking out with the crowds immediately after the fireworks, have generally been 30-45 minutes.

However, the ride itself can be the most time consuming, due the sheer congestion on the roads from all the cars and buses leaving at the same time. I usually think to myself, "I'm glad I not driving through this bumper to bumper madness!"

Because of that, I think if you did take a cab, it would be very expensive because of the time on the meter, not the mileage. You might be better off exiting out International Gateway and catching a cab at the Boardwalk.

I would just take the bus for all the reasons DVC California posted. Traffic will be an absolute nightmare. A cab isn't likely to save you time and there is no way of knowing how much you'll end up spending on a cab. On a typical night it would run between $15 and $20.
