NYE at WL

I'm thinking of spending NYE at the WL. Is anyone awake at midnight at the lodge? I mean, is everyone going to be at the parks? I don't want to be in the crowded parks, but I'm hoping for some NYE fun at the lodge at the stroke of midnight. Maybe something out by the pool??

Has anyone ever been at WL, or at any of the resorts, on NYE?

We have been at WDW for NYE the past 2 years. I can't speak for WL, bur BWV and Swan were both hopping around midnight. If you do not have reservations already, it might not be an option, it is a very popular place for the holidays. I'm sure you would have action at the resort. Many families choose not to go to a park. Boarwalk also has alot of activites planned including clowns, jugglers etc. We saw them when all the activites came into the lobby on NYE2002-3 becasue of rain.

We spent NYE (12/31) at the Beach Club. Had dinner at Yachtsman's Steakhouse and then spent the rest of the night walking the loop around BWI and BC/YC. When it came close to midnight. We were right on the boat dock at the YC with several other families and we were able to see the fireworks from EPCOT and MGM as well as BWI had a very loud countdown.. It was one big party! Everyone was given top hats (NYE at WDW 2003) and horns- CM's walking around giving them out. And everyone was yelling and wishing each other Happy New Years! It was incredible experience to be at WDW with my entire family. You don't even need to be in the parks to enjoy the festivities!! And the best part is that it is decorated with all the Christmas decorations.. What an amazing time to be in WDW!! Would highly recommend a trip to WDW during NYE!
