What kind of activities did they have for NYE if any? Wondering if this would be a better option with kids than taking them into Epcot?

Thanks!

We love going into Epcot for NYE, Shan! It's great fun to pick your favorite restaurant and then find a good spot to watch the extended version of Illuminations at midnight. Perhaps there are some BCV and BWV locations for view some of that as well, but it isn't the same as being around the lagoon! Our favorite spot is near the Rose and Crown.

Diane, what time do you think we'll need to find a spot? The closer we are to the back exit to get back to BCV the better.

Do you happen to know what time we would need to be into Epcot by to be guaranteed in. Someone on another thread told me MK closed to EVERYONE by 10 AM!

When we went to Epcot for 1999/2000 NYE we went when it opened. I don't want to be in there all day with the girls. I remember we took a nap on the grass if front of the old Horizons.

AND (sorry!) what is the ideal time to want an ADR for inside Epcot that night?

THANKS! :woohoo:

When we were there for NYE 1999/2000, you couldn't have gotten an Illuminations spot past noon! This year, there were lots of good spots available right up to about 90 minutes to an hour before hand. We did early ADRs, but I think 6-7 is a great time, because the wait between then and the fireworks wont be as long. We did a liesurly dinner, and then did some of the WS movies and shows before heading to our Illuminations view spot.

The parking lots for Epcot will close in the morning, but the park itself never reached capacity at all this year. In 1999/2000, the park reached capacity about 3 PM. I was told this trip, that Epcot rarely reaches capacity crowds.
