Dh and I had a great time hopping around the city and seeing the Broadway show. It was great seeing 2 friends up on stage! I know one thing for sure... I could NEVER live the NYC lifestyle!! LOL I think I am still recouping!! I'll visit though!!

Here's a picture of Ian and I after the show (notice his name on the sign in the background!! LOL)

Just noticed that you can't really read the names on the sign but it is his name to the left of his head!!! Ian Carney is what it says!!

Glad you had a nice time! NYC is VERY exhausting--the pace is tiring in itself. I don't know if I could live there either, but it sure is a fun place to visit.

Nice pic--how exciting that must've been. We saw Movin' Out in previews and enjoyed it. Not sure if your friend was in it then, though.

Glad you had a good time. I'm actually leaving for NYC tomorrow morning! I have tickets for a show at the Lincoln Center, but I might also try to find something else at the TKTS booth- did you ever go there? Do you know what shows they are offering?

I've heard the dancing in Movin' Out is fantastic!

Although I enjoyed the show it just didn't grab me the way other productions have! (of course I didn't tell my friends that!) I think what I missed the most was the grand set changes other shows have. This was basically just dancing with the band playing and singing the songs. You would think that being a dancer for 20 plus years myself that this would excite the heck out of me but something was just "not there" for me-that's just my opinion. The music was great of course-if you like Billy Joel.

I'm so excited because I'm going to NYC really soon! I know it will be fun and I'm glad you had fun....antkim!

antkim: I know exactly what you mean. While we enjoyed it (we got the tickets for free) I was glad we didn't shell out $200 to see it. I love Billy Joel so that was a plus, but I did miss the dialogue and set changes.

Where did you end up eating?

Kim, all I can say is Ian is hot, hot, hot!!! Glad you had fun in NYC.

Timeforme-we paid 100 a seat!!! He got us house tickets but he said they are rather strict about getting comps. So we had great seats-wish it they were for the Lion King! LOL We ended up eating at the Garage in the village-it's right next to Jeckle and Hydes(we went in there first but it was so dark and gloomy for such a sunny day we decided to go outside-apprently it is very funny in there!) After the show we just had an appetizer at the restaurant in the hotel-Sophies I think.

Ian is hot, hot, hot!!! He's a great guy as well but married!! LOL(he wasn't married when I hung out with him and neither was I! ;) )

Good that you enjoy NYC. I live here and I don't understand how I can live anywhere else! It's lively, it's convinient, and everything is right here. I love this town and glad everyone who comes here enjoy it too (even for just a couple of days).

:p

How cool!
We go to NYC every year for our anniversary weekend for our "grown-ups" weekend without the kids!!!!!

We will be there this year august 7-8th and ironically, we will be seeing Movin Out! Honestly, I am not too excited about it because of lots of negatives that I have heard about the show......but we have seen most of the other musicals playing right now, so we might as well see it. It must have been awesome seeing it with some one that you know!!!

I cannot wait...we will be staying at the Le Parker Meridien and dining at Becco on Restuarant Row.

I work in NYC (live on LI) and I love this place! I can't imagine living anywhere else......We've got everything except Disney World!

Bobbi-what day are you seeing the show? Sat. or Sun? Ian plays Tony both Sat. matinee and evening and my girlfriend Nancy plays Brenda in the evening as well. I'm not sure about Sunday though.

And for the record, the TKTS booth in Times Square offers tickets to pretty much every production that isn't sold out. Get there in the early afternoon, they open sometime between 1 and 3, I just forget exactly when. The line will be long, but most of the seats are excellent -- and half off! The last time we went we had excellent orchestra seats to see Aida - which I highly recommend, it was AMAZING.

I was given a gift of tickets to Fiddler - just have to pick the date!!!! I love this show - DS played Tevye when he was a senior in high school!!!! Hopefully, when we go, we'll go for high tea at Lady Mendl's Tea Salon on Irving Place first!!!!! What a beautiful setting and great service - like you stepped into the past!!!:wave2:

Well Bobbi you will see both of my friends then!! If you see them coming out of the stage door(about 20ft. to the right of the entrance) tell them that Kim says hello!! But DON'T tell them my review of the show!! LOL Enjoy!! I hope you like it and make sure you let me know what you think!! Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind?

Well...we saw Movin Out this weekend. It was good, not great, but good. I thought the dancing was very good...and the guy singing has an icredible voice!

BUT....what really "ruined" it for both my husband and I is that the next night we saw Wicked! OH MY GOD.......it was unbelievable! It is like comparing apples to oranges, in that both plays are extremely different. But I have to put Wicked up there as one of the top Broadway plays that I have ever seen! This one is going to be around for a long time!
