NYC Shooting Update-Councilman is Dead

Brooklyn Councilman James Davis is dead. He was shot twice in the chest in the Council Chamber as the session was beginning. The shooter still hasn't been apprehended.

Sad day for NYC government.

The gunmen is dead...he was the second death. This is "preliminary and developing news". Apparently they were rivals?

They're saying it was possibly a shootout between the two men in the balcony over political issues They both had guns?? Quite the situation. They just said that Councilman Davis carried a gun...was a former police officer, and probably responded to shots fired at him. But you know how it is...they like to throw out the news first, confirm it later.

apparently the gunman is dead -- he was a politician and was able to bypass security. they haven't identified him yet.
