Has anyone done the Intrepid Museum the morning of the cruise, or does it require more time to see? Also, would the parking be the same place for the cruise and the museum? We would probably visit with family who would not be taking the cruise with us but would be dropping us off.

How much time at the Intrepid depends on your interest level. I'm interested in aviation and served on an aircraft carrier, so spent the entire morning looking at airplanes, exploring the ship, examining exhibits, and touring the submarine, etc. I could have spent more but I had to meet the family, who had no interest in joining me to see airplanes. I noticed other visitors who arrived at about the same time I did found 1-2 hours sufficient.

Can't speak to the parking as we were spending a long weekend in Manhattan and I just walked to the ship from my hotel. However, when I sailed on the Magic a month ago, we were docked within easy walking distance (I think it was two piers over).

Hi! We did this last month. We parked our car at the terminal and checked in our bags, but not ourselves, at about 9:30. We grabbed some coffee and doughnuts at Car Wash Doughnuts and got to Intrepid a little before opening at 10 am and there was already a line of people waiting to get in . Took about 15 minutes to get tickets, so I advise getting them ahead of time. We bought a tour of The Concorde for 11 am and looked around for about 45 minutes at the displays on the first deck until then. We took our time and I feel like we saw most of the things there. The tour was about 30 minutes and then we went to the top deck for another half an hour to look at the planes there but cut it short as the weather was cold and damp.We did not go on the submarine,(claustrophobia), but there was a line to get in there. Maybe another 15 minute wait? We walked back to the ship at 11:30 ish and were checked in and on board by noon.I think three hours would be ample time even if you took one of the tours.
Intrepid has no dedicated parking lot. There were a few private lots nearby that I saw that said "Intrepid Parking". Not sure what they charge.

i agree with the above, you can see the ship in two hours. 3 tops maybe if you book a special tour. We were there mainly to see the Shuttle so did not take any tours, however, we did walk through all open public areas, and it was an enjoyable morning.
We weren't trying to board the Magic but if it is two piers away, go for it.

Also know that you could check in for the Magic and then walk over to the Intrepid. You don't have to go directly on the boat after check in. You could then stay out without worrying about check in. Just walk from the Intrepid to the ship. If you're with company they may not want to spend time checking in with you. But an option to consider especially if you arrive at the pier after check for the Magic begins.
