Considering a trip to NYC over Easter weekend next year.

Would most likely fly in Good Friday morning, and go back home either the Monday or Tuesday after Easter.

Would we regret being their on Easter? Would there be anything to do on Easter Sunday - or will things be closed down? Are tourist things open that day? Any museums? Any theaters?

We simply cannot go the following weekend (the end of DD's spring break) as she will have a state-level tournament to go to.

Thanks for any help you could offer!

99% of NYC attractions, museums, and theatres will be open on Easter Sunday. You won't have any problem finding something to do.

AWESOME!!!

Thank you so much!!!

We spent Easter of 2009 in NYC because DH was there on business. We took DD too see The Little Mermaid on Broadway and had a nice dinner out. I'm pretty sure just about everything was open cause it was Times Square mania as usual :)

We made the mistake of listening to some people who said everywhere would be shut on Easter Sunday so we chose to do the Bronx Zoo only to find out 99% places were open:headache: We could have done a lot more had we known that:goodvibes

In NYC I imagine that very little, if anything, would be closed...

Get the the the NYC forum on Tripadvisor, and you will be able to find out anything else you need to know! :goodvibes

However, just be advised that a few of the resident locals who volunteer on there DO have that infamous New York attitude. So, be forewarned and take it all in stride with a grain of salt if you get any response that takes you aback.

PS: We enjoyed a visit to the Metropolitan Museum at Central Park. You can pay the full suggested entry, or pay as you can/wish.

Their web-site should tell you what days they might not be open. I imagine that they will be open when you are there.

Come on- we are the city that never sleeps LOL---always something to do no matter what day it is!

That is what I was hoping for...would hate to spend a boatload o'cash to find out we would be sitting in our hotel...Heck - for a lot less money, I can sit in my very own home!
