NYC for Teens

I'm taking DD16 to NYC next week. We have tix to see Chicago and Wicked, but this is all I have planned.

What else should I take her to do? We will be there 3 days & are staying at the Marriott in Times Square.

in times square -- shop at the Virgin Megastore, MTV store, planet hollywood, sephora, the hershey store.

take her to ellen's startdust for lunch or dinner.

my girls loved madame tussaud's.

on the east side, go to serendipity for frozen hot chocolate. stop at the candy bar a few doors down.

the museum of natural history -- the planetarium is wonderful.

world of disney is supposed to be great.

the Empire State building and the Statue of Liberty.

Where is Ellen's Stardust? Is it "fancy" food?

Is a taxi the best way to get to the East side? If yes, where would we want to be dropped?

Don't forget Chinatown for shopping the girls from our studio always enjoy shopping there for bargins.

ellen's stardust diner, not fancy at all. it's on 51st, right next to the wintergarden theater.

remember in "On the Twon", gene Kelly kept looking for "Miss subways"? Ellen was a Miss subway back int eh 40's. the exterior of the building looks like a subway car. inside, there's a model train that runs around the edge of the balcony. there's also a huge video screen showing songs and clips from the 40's and 50's. the waitstaff is dressed like it's 1955.

and better yet -- they sing! it's the home of the singing waitstaff.
