So, we're thinking about moving, the BF and I.
Throwing places out, we started talking about moving to the city. (we're allowed to call it that...we DO live in state...lmao!)
It's just the 2 of us, always will be. We're not interested in babies, dogs or cats. maybe a fish. someday.
We're young and active. We like DOING things. We are assuming (correctly, i believe) that there would be plenty to do besides go to the movies and walk the mall.
We need help. I've only been to the city a few times (Times square area, to see Broadway shows) and he's only been once, when he was young.
Obviously we're going to plan on spending a few days down there first to see if it's something we're going to be okay with. But I haven't the first idea what to expect. How's the job market? I'm experienced in theatre and restaurants. We're not looking for super money making wall street work. We'd like to pay the rent and have some fun (a concert, museum passes, etc.)
I don't know where to even start looking for a place to live, or areas that aren't for tiny suburban girls like me. I'm aware that living in a place that large will have it's dangers, but i'd like a semi-safe area, kwim??
Currently, we live in the City of Troy, which with Albany, make up the capital district area. about 3 hours away.
So, if any of you DISers could give any hints, tips, or other information as to how i can start my search, i'd greatly apprechate it.
Oh, and we're looking to move next fall, September or October. For now we're just saving money
