We will be traveling to the LA area 12/23-1/3 and need to pick a day for DL, any suggestions for the easiest day to be there? What about NY Eve, anyone been there then?

I've been there the last 2 NYE. All I can say is that if you want to do rides and shows, don't go on NYE.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun. But there are a lot of people. The park reached capacity and shut the gates at around 4pm or so.
At midnight, it's like a can of sardines around the hub. They do have great fireworks though. :thumbsup2

i'd go on the 2nd or 3rd. Not as many people. But a lot left over from the Rose parade.. Nice time to go some of the decorations are still up.

We were there NYE 4 years ago, and while the park stayed open until 2 or 3 in the morning, it was too packed to really do anything. We entered the park late afternoon/early evening, and it literally took us 1 hour to make our way back to New Orleans Square. It was wall to wall people, and they were barely moving. We decided to take a break and try to get something to eat, and the line for the restaurant (can't remember which one, but it was a counter service) took another hour. We couldn't believe it. If you have the time, I'd definitely wait for the 2d or 3d before attempting it.

We went on January 2 back in 2003, and the place was a madhouse. But I don't know that any of the other days that you're there would be any better, and NYE? I can't even imagine.

We go on NYE every year. It's extremely crowded, and we generally only go on a few rides. If it is your only day there I don't think I would pick that day. Usually by the 2nd or 3rd the crowds start to thin a bit, but it really depends on when NY falls. If people have to get back for school right away it is less crowded that when schools are still off that week, as most in CA will be.

Out of those days, I would say Jan 2nd or 3rd.

we can go 12/27 up to the 2nd of Jan. We were trying to stay awa from the weekend as others had suggested. Guess will go Thurs or Fri
