NY Day WDW

Anyone know if WDW does anything special on NY Day? trying to figure out if we should extend a day or not. currently leaving on the 1st but flights look good on the 2nd so should we stay for anything special on the 1st?

I was there once on NY Day and never again. The parks were so packed it was literally scary. 2-3 hour waits for everything, no room to push strollers or wheelchairs. You could not even see pavement people were so packed together. I have been several times when it was "busy" but this was a whole other level.

Can't say if they are doing anything special but I wish you luck and pack your patience!

Ah, I'm not worried about crowds, they don't bother me, just wondering about anything special on the day

I’ve been 2-3 times on NYD and never saw anything special for the day. Crowds are no worse than Christmas or NYE, and probably less, especially in the morning.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not but I believe the OP is referring to New Year’s Day, not New York Day

We were there New Years Day 2020 and 2023–nothing special. Leaving tomorrow to do it again!

Nothing special, except maybe some special food offerings, Crowds in the morning aren’t bad compared to the weeks/days preceding it.
