Nutty iPad photographers.

Even better when they hold it up during the darker portion of The Land while they are riding in the seats in front of you!

Some of those were funny. But... how many of those pictures were taken with an iPad or iPhone?? Even funnier.

It seems to have become my lot in life to get stuck in the row behind someone who wants to video the entire safari with their iPad. Drives me absolutely nuts! I think I'm going to start interviewing the people who look like they will be positioned near us and move accordingly!

Now this actually is not a bad idea, at least a glance around to see who has what with them!

Ugh that stupid safari LOL. It always happens, I have a great shot lined up with my camera and then someone shoves their arm or hand in my shot trying to get their own picture. :( Usually holding an iPhone or iPad.

I have to admit, I take photos with my iPhone - but as it's the same size as my camera - and I use it like my camera, which also doesn't have a viewfinder - I don't see why that would be an issue for anyone.

iPads bother me, though - even the minis. They're so large they block not only your view but everyone else's. They pop up at my daughter's dance events and it just saddens me that people are not only rude to others, but end up viewing life through a digital screen rather than enjoying what's actually in front of them.

I don't think most people have an issue with iPhone or cell phones in general as cameras. It is the size if the ipad that is the issue. To me it just doesn't seem convenient to carry my larger ipad around the parks.

don't mind the phones.........the big IPads drive me crazy. So annoying

What surprises me are how many people I see taking pictures with a hue iPad, that also have an iPhone. The iPhone cameras take MUCH better pictures, why would you not use them instead?

I know my parents for a long time didn't realize that the camera on their phone was actually better than on the iPad, they just assumed a bigger device had a bigger camera. So they were always taking pictures with their iPad until I pointed that out to them.

I wonder if other people are making that assumption too, or if they just like being able to see what they are taking on a bigger screen. Either way, it drives me nuts to be behind them.

I mean, i LOVE my iPad as much as the next person, but I don't want to see the ride/parade/show/etc through the screen on yours!

People who use their iPads as cameras are complete and total dorks. Not geeks or nerds, because those people are really smart and wouldn't be caught dead with an iPad held over their heads.

I can remember the days when the technologically minded folks had those huge videocameras (the kind that held an entire VHS tape). Those were way bigger than an Ipad, for obstructing views.

Not everyone has all the latest gadgets (ie an Iphone), perhaps an Ipad is what they have for photos or it's what they're most accustomed to using. To each his own! (Personally, I kick it old school with a small 35MM digital camera - no smartphone, which will be a disadvantage with wrangling FP+, but Oh Well!)

A full-sized iPad is one of the most expensive and latest gadgets out there. It's just not meant to be a travel camera. They are pretty fragile, shouldn't get wet, and don't survive bumps or drops all that well. Carrying one at a theme park is beyond silly.

iPads cost more than iPhones/iPods

Sometimes it's seems like "look at me I own an iPad" I'm important.

Now I love my iPad ,so much so, I wouldn't risk it getting damaged as well as looking like a total dork.

Those camcorders were put on shoulders and you used a viewfinder up to your eye, while the unit was bigger than an ipad the camera was held close/on the body obstructing the portion of your shoulder width to your head . iPads and today's LCD view screen cameras everyone is holding out at arms length to get a shot which obstructs a larger view.

It would be nice if there was a "viewfinder mode" where the view was tiny and you had to bring the ipad close to your eye to get the picture, thus causing the obstruction of everyone else's view to the persons head

What worked for me when I was behind an iPad offender at The Lion King in AK, was taking a digital photo of what I was seeing, and showing it to the guy. He put the thing away. Donna

I didn't know they ever made 35MM digital cameras. Sorry just picking on you a bit. I do have to say though, for a while when digital was new, and even up till about 2 years ago, I would take my 35MM SLR over most digitals. Now digital is much better and I don't think I've even touched my film camera in about 2.5 years.

I do agree with a lot of people on here that taking pictures and videos with iPads and other tablets is going to far. I do use my phone a lot, but that's because I don't want to take my Rebel in the parks and risk losing or breaking it.

I don't know why my entire last post was posted like a quote, only the first line was a quote. Oh well darn phones anyway.

This isn't unique to WDW. Every school chorus or orchestra event, in a dark auditorium, I'll see at least a few iPads videotaping the entire performance. I feel sorry for anyone within a 10' vicinity of them.
