The main drawback with any prepackaged program (NutiSystem, Jenny Craig) is that they don't teach you what a portion of normal food looks like. It's easy and convenient to just eat what they give you, and your body gets used to having that amount of food. But once you start cooking for yourself again, you're likely to regain the weight. You might think you're cooking healthy foods, but even too much broiled chicken, rice and broccoli will add up over time.
I have tried both NutriSystem and Jenny Craig. I found that I got very tired of mushy, salty foods. I got to the point where I was craving a fresh chicken breast, rather than one that was frozen, thawed, and soaking in some kind of sodium-laden sauce.
