Nutella

I used it for s'mores instead of chocolate bars.

I also swirl it into brownie batter before baking.

Can you put it on ice cream?

Actually you can, DS loves it on ice cream. We scoop some into a microwave safe bowl and nuke it 10 seconds at a time until it is a consistancy that we can put it on the ice cream.

Nutella originated in Italy, the Italians love everything hazelnut. We first moved to Italy in 1992 and used to ship Nutella home to our families before it was available in the US. DS lived 5-1/2 years in Italy and was very surprised last year when he could not get Nutella ice cream at the ice cream stores here.

My favorite way to eat Nutella (besides with a spoon) is to do it the Italian way, cut open a fresh croissant (warm is yummy), spread with Nutella, close and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.....mmmmm, mmmmm, good!!

I had never heard of it until DWhittles mentioned in one of her posts a few months ago. I've never seen it at Kroger, but then again, I've never looked for it either.

Amy :)

I love Nutella. I grew up on them back in Indonesia. It was great because my mother would spread it on toast and top it off with chocolate sprinkles! YUMMY! Chocolate for breakfast!

I'm not a big chocolate eater, but I'll eat Nutella like candy if I can find it. I eat it on bread, saltine crackers, ice cream - all the usual stuff - but my favorite is grilled Nutella sandwiches. You take 2 pieces of bread, spread Nutella on both slices, slap them together, spread some butter on the outside and grill! OMG! Heaven!

Mmmmm Nutella :goodvibes

I was introduced to Nutella back in '78 in Germany - we had it for breakfast on brötchen (rolls)....

When I do get it here, we put it on toast, or on a flour tortilla & roll it up (especially homemade tortillas - yummm)....

I don't buy it anymore because it doesn't last in our house.

Oooooh man, I love Nutella! It is good on anything! Or by itself, right out of the jar. I will put it on anything that will sit still long enough. Yum!

I first tried Nutella on my People-to-People trip to Russia in 1991. We bought it at some of the markets there where they sold Western /European stuff for tourists. Seeing Nutella always makes me smile, since it reminds me of the trip - that and it's just so darn good!

Pretzels are a very efficient tool to scoop it out of the jar! ;)

Man, I haven't had that stuff in years, which is probably just as well given the fat content!
