Nutella vs Jif

A friend of mine posted on facebook that she bought Jif chocolate hazelnut spread and is addicted to it. I asked her if it was as good as Nutella (I LOVE Nutella). She said it was better. So I went out and bought a jar... it's disgusting. It's very liquidy and doesn't taste good at all. I don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of the jar, but I know I'm not eating it.

Has anyone else tried Jif? What did you think?

I have not tried Jiff because i hate Nutella and figured Jiff would taste the same.

I think they're both gross. I love Jif whips chocolate and peanut butter.

I'm 100% a Nutella man, and the Tex family are ALL Nutella fans. We've tried the Jif stuff, and I agree with Zandy595 that it's watery and just -- not very good.

Jif was yucky. We are a loyal Nutella family now. Unless I am super cheap then I buy Shoprites version. But never ever the Jif stuff again.

I love Nutella to bits, and quite recently converted my brother's whole family to it (they had NEVER had it before, and were mad I only had a travel size pack with me lol). I've seen the JIF one in stores and even without tasting it, I can sense it's just not the same. Based on what I've seen here and other reviews online, I'm right.

I'm 100% a Nutella man, and the Tex family are ALL Nutella fans. We've tried the Jif stuff, and I agree with Zandy595 that it's watery and just -- not very good.

Same here...did not like the JIF version at all.

DH likes the Jif kind better. I have about 5 jars of Nutella on hand though. I'm a Nutella girl. My Jif spread is not watery though. It is about the same consistency as the Nutella but maybe a bit thinner (easier to spread).
I do think the Jif tastes more chocolatey.

I bought Jif when my grocery store was out of Nutella, my DD hated it. I tried it and didnt care for it either. IIRC it tasted like chocolate peanut butter.

The jiff one is gross- Nutella is SO much better. I tried those whipped peanut butter and chocolate things and they were really nasty!

I wouldn't even considering trying it and leaving my blessed Nutella on the shelf! I'll take your word that it's watery and eat my spoonfuls of Nutella instead.

Mmmmmm My fav is a piece of crusty bakery style bread toasted with butter and nutella getting all melty from the heat. YUM! Won't try Jiff thanks for the warning.

I hate Hazelnut ANYTHING (coffee, candy, etc.) especially Nutella. I bought the Jif for my kids, and tried it, it IS more chocolatey, and I can stand it much better!!! I do think the consistency changes depending on the temp in the house. Before I had my AC on and it was constantly above 75, it seemed thinner. Now that I am keeping my house at a cool 72 it seems to have "tightened" up a bit. But, I find this happens with my PB too..

I'm wondering if the jar I have is rancid. I can't imagine anyone liking it, it tastes awful.
