I also agree with Shelli, as a nurse (13 years) take the summer off and take care of your self and your family. Do not give your self the opportunity to get comfortable in an LPN position and settling less for what you are working towards.

I think more and more places are moving away from LPNs, so why kill yourself if you wouldn't be able to get a job anyway? The pay wouldn't be as good but I'm guessing you'd have a much easier time finding a job as an aide than an LPN if you needed to. I have a daughter with severe medical issues...it takes alot out of you (as does nursing school.) I'm afraid if you push yourself, you're going to be really burnt out when things really get going! If you were promised a really great job as an LPN if you needed it, that'd be one thing, but it doesn't sound like that's the case! Good luck.
