Nurses Rate at Dolphin/Standard room

I have 3 rooms booked with the nurse rate and I was wondering could anyone tell me a little about the standard rooms? Did anyone get an upgrade? When did you request an upgrade? Should I just book a room with a view from the start? Please someone help.

If you are looking to upgrade using spg points, you can only do that 5 days ahead of arrival. We tried to upgrade to jr suite, but there were none available. We had already booked club level, but that is a common upgrade as is a different view. We had view of MGM and Epcot. You can make a request via swandolphin.com if you have your reservation number. They respond very quickly to e-mail. The folks at Swan and especially spg desl staff were very helpful.
