Nurses or anyone that can give me advice

Late last night I started having pains in my lower back on the right side. They almost feel like cramps a little (its not that time of the month) When I move it gets a little worse and right after I went to the bathroom I had one pain that was awful. It radiates around into the right side of my stomach but it isn't really bad there and it radiates down my leg a little. Any one have any ideas? Its not severe so I don't want to go run to the Dr.

I'm not a medical person, but I think you should visit your doctor. Reminds me of a kidney infection that I had once.

I agree that it sounds like a kidney infection. You should treat it right away so that you can take oral antibiotics instead of being admitted for IV antiobiotics. If there's any possibility you could be pregnant, you definitely need to call the doctor right away. It could be a tubal pregnancy, but probably not since the pain is going down instead of toward your shoulder.

My first thought was kidneys too... My best frien gets those and they are HORRIBLE if left untreated!

I understand not wanting to rush off to the dr., but could you call his office and talk to the nurse on duty? Usually she can tell from your description whether or not it warrants you coming in. During nonoffice hours, the e.r. at our local hospital has a nurse who does this, also. Please don't take any chances, though, okay? Hugs...
